Hi,
I'm Christina Hildebrandt,
The creator of the Sound Healing Courses that you may have listened to on Insight Timer.
I'm really excited to be speaking to you via video.
It's been a few years since I've uploaded these courses and I've received over the years a lot of comments.
The ones I really wanted to respond to are the ones that ask,
How do I become a sound healer?
People have this desire and the world needs sound healers right now.
So I wanted to respond to this.
So you are asking,
Christina,
How did you become a sound healer?
What was the process you went through?
And I am entirely self-taught as much as one can say that,
Knowing that one stands on the shoulders of giants and those who came before.
I would say that as a child,
I sang all the time.
And so voice has always been my sound healing instrument of choice.
And as we know now,
And what was ancient wisdom,
The voice is good for the vagus nerve,
Which is the nerve that calms down the whole body and mind.
So that is my background,
Is just singing all the time.
Then later on,
A little bird said to me,
As I was working doing massage therapy,
This person needs sound.
And it took me quite a while to give myself permission to use sound in that therapeutic setting.
But once I did,
I will tell you,
It was phenomenal.
So sound can be used,
I would say,
In any context,
Certainly it lends itself to the therapeutic world,
But we can use sound ourselves as a self-soothing or empowering tool,
And we can share it with others.
I knew that I wanted to share with others.
And it,
As you know,
I didn't follow a specific program being self-taught,
But my clients taught me.
So for me,
I listen and I hear the sound.
Now you may process and access that information in a much different way than I do.
And that's okay.
The crux is to ask yourself,
How do I act in the world?
How do I roll?
Are you visual?
Are you aural?
Do you feel it in your own body?
So experiment with how you access that information.
What is this moment telling you?
That's the biggest takeaway I have for you right now.
What is this moment telling you?
You're working with a client,
You're a lawyer,
You're working with a client,
You're a therapist,
You're working with a client,
Or you're working with this client here.
So what does this client need?
What does that client need?
Can you hear a sound?
Can you hear a low sound?
Can you hear a high sound?
So that's something to really explore in your life.
Someone has asked me,
How many years did it take me to become a sound healer?
I could argue I'm still not a sound healer.
Or I could say I was a sound healer from the beginning.
It's a journey.
And I don't want to sound trite about that.
But being a sound healer means that you have committed to listening.
You have committed to listening to the world around you,
To your own heart,
And figuring out what these are telling you.
So I could go on and on,
But I won't.
I hope that you've gotten something from this little video.
I'll be posting others in the coming months.
I hope that you get online,
Listen to the courses,
Listen to my tracks that are also there,
And let what I have said percolate.
See how it works for you.
And please feel free to ask questions or comment in the Insight Timer app,
And we'll have a great conversation.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Keep on listening.
Bye bye.
