This meditation,
Listening to the wisdom of the body,
Comes from my over 40 years as a health professional,
Watching as the body's wisdom shows itself in so many ways.
I suggest that as you practice this meditation,
You put aside ideas you already have about diagnosis and treatment,
And just listen to what the body has to say to you.
Enjoy!
Close your eyes and breathe deeply into your body,
Allowing the out-breath to be longer than the in-breath.
Take all the thoughts that are circulating in your head,
Breathe them down into the earth.
Now take your awareness to your heart chakra,
Centre of your chest,
And breathe in and out of this area,
Feeling the compassion for yourself and your body.
Move your awareness to a part of your body which is sick or is in distress at this moment,
Or has been ill in the past.
If you have nothing wrong with your body,
Maybe go to your mind,
There's probably plenty to work with there.
If it helps,
Place a hand on that part of your body.
Now allowing your intuition to guide you,
Ask yourself,
What image comes to mind when I think of the distress or dis-ease of this part of my body?
Let the first thoughts be the right one.
What image comes to mind?
Give it colour and feeling.
What does it look like?
If you could take that image,
That picture,
And hang it on a wall,
What title would you give the image?
Let the first thoughts be the right ones.
Name it,
Name the picture.
And if the picture could talk to you,
What does it want to say to you or ask you?
Listen to the picture,
Listen to the message of your body.
And if you can make some changes to the picture that would bring healing to the body,
What changes would you make?
You might want to bring in colour or change something subtly that makes a difference.
Do that now.
When satisfied,
Bring your awareness back to the room where you are,
Opening your eyes,
And when you're ready,
Make notes of your findings.
