Our Inner Child, or Little Self, is the part of us that wants to belong, feel loved, and know that we are worthy. Healing your inner child begins with the first meeting. This meditation will facilitate the meeting between you and your little self so that you can reconnect and heal with them. Allow your imagination to guide you through this process and remain open throughout this powerful experience. Use this meditation whenever you need to reconnect with your little self.

Transcript

Today's guided meditation,

You'll have a chance to find healing.

Remember to remain open to whatever shows up or doesn't show up for you today and to utilize your imagination as a tool to guide you through today's meditation.

So to get started,

Finding a comfortable seated position or lying down,

Making any last movements so that you can rest comfortably in stillness and starting to bring your attention to the breath as you take a deep inhale through the nose and exhaling through the mouth,

Noticing the expansion of the body on the inhale and the contraction on the exhale,

Noticing any thoughts,

Any worries in the mind,

Asking for those things to be put to side,

Knowing that you can return to them in your own time,

Continuing to bring the attention to the breath on the inhale and the exhale and with the attention at the top of your head,

Starting to relax all the muscles in the face,

Relaxing the forehead,

Relaxing the space between the eyebrows,

Relaxing the cheeks and the jaw,

Dropping the tongue down from the roof of the mouth,

Relaxing and releasing all the tension and then dropping the weight in the shoulders,

Relaxing down through the upper arm,

Bringing this relaxation down into the chest and upper back,

Relaxing all the muscle,

Bring your attention closer to this bubble,

Closing you into a bubble of safety,

Yourself to be and gently it starts to flow upwards,

You and the bubble start to flow up the room that you are in,

Into the sky,

Up and up,

Tree tops and buildings,

Up and up and up,

Higher and higher,

The star continues to flow up,

The bubble comes to rest,

To step out of the bubble,

Walking across the floor of clouds and you notice ahead of you a door,

You feel drawn towards it,

Noticing the color,

Handle of the door,

And as you get closer to it,

You feel a sense of peace,

Placing your hand on the door,

You gently push it open and as you step inside and look at the sun shining above,

Brushing against your legs as you walk,

And feel the air on your skin,

Sounds of birds overhead and you see thousands of tiny flowers,

Trees scattered about and as you continue to walk,

You notice a large tree not too far from you,

As you make your way towards it,

You notice that there's a blanket underneath the tree,

Walking up to this blanket underneath the tree,

You notice that someone is there waiting for you,

This is your little self,

Taking the time to notice how old they are,

What they look like,

Maybe what they're wearing and notice how they react in seeing you,

Maybe your little self is feeling excited,

They might be feeling confused or scared,

This is fine,

Just noticing and as you join your little self,

Taking the time to introduce yourself to them,

Noticing their reaction,

In a moment you and your little self are going to stand up from the blanket,

You're going to allow your little self to guide you to another area in the meadow where they are going to show you something or an activity that they absolutely love to do,

Maybe your little self is comfortable holding your hand or maybe they just want to walk next to you or even walk ahead of you as you make your way to this other area and them being with them as they show you to do something that brings them so much,

Your little self are going to make your way to another part of the field,

A small pond,

Walking together towards this pond,

Maybe you decide to take off your shoes,

Sit on the bank and dip your feet in the water and as you sit next to each other,

Turning towards your little self and allowing them to express and say to you whatever it is that they need to say,

All you need to do is hold space,

Little self to express themselves,

However,

Silence,

You're done,

Standing up,

As you both make your way to a bench and as you both approach the bench sitting down,

This is now your chance,

Tell your little self anything that it is that you have,

Maybe there is something that they need to hear to express to them,

Whatever it is that they need to hear,

Right,

Of you gently standing up from the bench,

Making your way back to the blanket underneath the tree where you're both able to sit and maybe noticing if your little self is comfortable crawling up into your lap and sitting with you or maybe they want to sit next to you or maybe they even need a little bit of distance,

Self asking if there's anything that they need from you and seeing if this is something that you're able to give to them,

It may be something they need to hear,

It might be a hug,

It might be reassurance,

Checking what it is and if you're able to give them this,

For you to go communicating this to your little self,

Telling them that it's time for you to go and noticing how they react to this,

Maybe their understanding,

Maybe they feel a little bit nervous or scared that you're leaving,

Again giving them some reassurance and reminding them that they are a part of you,

Although they might not be able to see you,

They are always with you,

Able to come back to this place to connect with them when you're taking a moment to say your goodbyes,

As you gently make your way up from the blanket,

Starting to walk through the meadow,

Your way back towards the door,

Up the door to your bubble where you're able to sit comfortably,

Gently starting to bring,

Noticing where it is that you're waiting for
