Welcome to tonight's adventure.

We are headed to Superpower School.

Have you ever been before?

We are going to learn all of the skills to become a superhero.

Are you ready?

Before we go,

We are going to relax our bodies and our minds so that we can really focus and feel calm.

As we learn,

Superheroes try to feel as calm as possible so that they can safely help others.

So go ahead and rest your entire body now.

Lay down,

Grab a pillow,

Maybe a blanket,

Maybe your favorite stuffed animal too.

How can you get yourself even more comfortable in this moment?

We are going to do a very special superhero relaxation technique where we will relax our bodies from head to toe whenever you are ready,

Imagining that there are some gentle sparkles flickering above your head.

These sparkles start at the top of your head and slowly move down your face,

Relaxing each and every muscle of your face,

Relaxing your forehead,

Your eyes,

Closing them softly,

Relaxing your cheeks,

Your chin,

Your mouth.

Imagining as these sparkles head down your shoulders,

Dropping them down.

These sparkles head down your right arm,

All the way down to your fingertips.

They head all the way down your left arm,

Down to those fingertips too.

The sparkles head all the way down your chest,

Across your belly,

Both of your legs,

Past your knees,

Your shins,

Across the top of your feet,

And all the way down through each and every one of your toes.

Your whole body is covered in these superhero sparkles.

Your whole body feels relaxed and peaceful here.

Rest your body and drop deeper into the surface that you are on,

And let's get ourselves even more relaxed by taking three superhero breaths.

First,

I want you to practice putting your hands into a fist,

And then practice raising that fist up and down,

Up and down,

Kind of like you're punching the sky.

This is your superhero pose.

Once you're done practicing,

I want you to inhale slowly through your nose as you raise that fist up into the sky,

And then slowly exhale as you lower it back down.

Inhale slowly through your nose as you raise your fist up into the sky.

Exhale slowly as you lower it down,

Feeling calmer and even more peaceful with every breath that you take.

You are so ready to learn how to become a superhero.

You walk down the street,

Right up to a big red building that has a sign out front that says,

Welcome to Superhero School.

You open the big red doors,

And inside are all kinds of superheroes flying around.

Your favorite superhero greets you at the door and points to a rack of superhero outfits for you to choose from.

You go through about 20 of them before you find the perfect one for you.

You take it off the hanger and you put it on,

You have a big smile on your face,

It fits you perfectly,

And you look incredible in your new superhero suit.

Your favorite superhero tells you that there are three steps to becoming a superhero.

Are you ready to learn them?

You nod your head,

Excited and ready to learn.

The first step to becoming a superhero is to make sure that you are taking care of yourself first before you start to save and take care of others.

How do you take care of yourself?

What can you do to feel good,

Calm and happy before you start to practice helping others?

Can you take some deep breaths?

Can you feel peaceful by going for a nature walk,

Maybe getting some movement in,

Or eating healthy food?

Try to think of a few ways that you can take care of yourself now.

Next you head over to station number two to learn the second one.

Step two to become a superhero is always act with kindness.

What does it mean to act with kindness?

This means that you choose to treat others around you nicely,

Kindly,

Respectfully,

And to use your powers for good.

You are definitely on board with this.

You get a couple of superpowers to try out now.

So which ones do you want to try?

Maybe you want to fly?

You try out as many superpowers as you want,

And you make sure you are using them kindly and for good reasons.

Next you head over to station number three to learn the third step in becoming a superhero.

The third step to becoming a superhero is to always work together with your fellow superheroes.

You like this one too.

You practice flying around and helping each other.

This is fun.

You love working together with the other superheroes.

The more the merrier.

The more of you that there are,

The more you can help other people.

Now that you have mastered all three of the steps of becoming a superhero,

You are a certified superhero.

Congratulations.

Why don't you spend some time here practicing your superpowers and thinking about who you might like to help in the next couple of days.

You are so proud of yourself.

You worked so hard today.

You have worked so hard that you are starting to feel tired.

It's been a really big day.

You remember that step one of becoming a superhero is to take care of yourself first.

And I think it's time to do that now.

So take a slow deep breath in through your nose and out from your mouth.

You know it's time to rest now so that you can be your best self tomorrow,

Ready to save the world.

Allow yourself to rest.

You deserve it.

Rest your body and your eyes.

And softly allow yourself to drift off to sleep.

Softly and slowly.

Softly and slowly.

Rest here.

You are safe to rest here.

Rest your body so that you can save the world tomorrow.

Rest and relax.

Rest and relax.

Rest and relax.

Sweet dreams,

Superhero.

Sleep well.

Sleep well.

Sleep well.

My daughters were wild and the usual bedtime wind down was not working. I started this and they were asleep way before the end. I’m sure they had dreams of being superheroes! Thank you!
