Finding a comfortable seated position that could be on a cushion,
On the floor,
Or in a seat,
But finding one where you can support the spine,
Where it can be long and strong,
And where your hands can rest gently on the tops of your thighs or in your lap,
Rolling the shoulders back and down the back,
Sit up tall and close down the eyes,
Or you can gently soften your gaze down the tip of your nose.
Let's take a moment and just notice our body in the space,
And taking a nice deep breath in through the nose,
Filling up the belly,
Sigh it out through the mouth,
And taking another deep breath in through the nose,
And sigh it out through the mouth.
See if you can notice where you feel the most grounded,
Where you feel your heaviness and connection to gravity in this moment.
And just allowing your awareness to float to that part of you,
And letting your breath and your awareness linger in your rootedness,
And then taking a nice deep breath in to that space,
And exhaling,
Letting it go.
Notice the quality of your body,
Any sensations you might be experiencing.
And from this place of stillness,
I invite you to consider what are you calling in for the year ahead?
What are your intentions?
What are your hopes and visions?
What are you wanting to magnetize into your life?
It could be health,
It could be relationships,
It could be something like joy or peace.
Just allowing whatever images or words or thoughts arise to just gently notice them.
It might be multiple things that you hope to call in for this next year,
Or it might be one thing.
But just allowing your mind to be filled with those thoughts and images and feelings and words.
And breathing,
Noticing your breath as you think about these things and allow them to fill your mind's eye.
And I want you to think for a moment about what it is that you're hoping this thing or these things will bring into your life.
Will it bring in peace,
Stability,
Pleasure,
Delight,
Calm?
And just notice what's happening in your body as you imagine these things and the qualities that this will bring to you.
Noticing where you feel that in your body.
And really allowing your breath to keep you present with those experiences and sensations.
Seeing what you may become aware of.
And then I invite you to take in a nice deep breath as you imagine these things and these sensations,
Breathing it into your body,
Filling yourself up,
And then just letting the breath go.
Again,
Imagining these things that you're calling in,
These intentions,
These words,
These images for this next year.
And then taking a nice deep breath in,
Breathing that all into your body,
Filling your body up,
And then letting that breath go.
And then one last time,
As if you're drinking from a cup,
Breathing in,
Breathing in all those intentions and qualities,
And exhaling and just letting that breath go.
And allowing your breath to return to its normal rhythm.
I invite you to notice how your body is feeling right now.
What are you aware of?
What sensations or qualities do you notice?
And just allowing all those images and thoughts to dissolve away,
Releasing and letting go of what those intentions are for this next year.
And coming back to the breath.
Noticing again where you can feel your rootedness.
Where do you feel connected to the earth?
Right here,
Right now.
Noticing the stability and the weightedness of that earth connection.
And then taking a nice deep breath into that space in your body.
I invite you to bring your hands to your heart.
And just feeling your heart space.
Feeling how your body is carrying the imprint of these intentions right now.
And just inwardly gently reminding yourself that you can return to this inner space and these intentions at any time.
And then bringing your hands to prayer at heart center.
Gently bowing your head,
Sealing in these intentions and the reverence to this practice.
And sending peace and love from my heart into your heart.
