Welcome to the winter meditation,
A journey through the stillness of the season.
Now find a space where you can either sit comfortably or lay and perhaps you wrap yourself in a warm blanket,
Maybe dimming the lights or lighting a candle to create a soft glow reminiscent of winter's quiet evenings.
If you can,
Place a mug of tea or a fragrant essential oil nearby to evoke the smell of the season,
Maybe some spices,
Maybe the smell of pine or even cedar.
Now allow yourself to close your eyes,
Take a slow,
Deep breath,
Allowing the world around you to just fade.
I want to begin this meditation by bringing your awareness to your body.
Feel the weight of your body sinking into the surface beneath you.
Imagine your breath as a cool winter wind.
As you breathe,
As you inhale,
It sweeps through your body,
Clearing away any tension.
And as you exhale,
The wind grows warmer,
Carrying away what no longer serves you.
Now repeat that breath,
Finding a rhythm that feels steady and calm.
Now picture yourself standing at the edge of a winter forest.
The air is crisp and cool,
Brushing softly against your cheeks.
And you are wrapped up in warm layers,
Something soft against your skin,
A scarf hugging your neck.
The faint scent of pine and frost fill the air,
Clean and earthy,
Mingling with the subtle aroma of wood smoke from a destined fire.
And in your mind's eye as you step into this forest,
Feel the crunch of fresh snow beneath your boots.
Each step leaves a perfect imprint in the soft,
White snow.
Take a moment to pause and listen.
The world is quiet,
Muffled by the snow.
The wind whispers through the bare branches above,
And at a distance,
You hear the faint song of a winter's bird.
This is winter stillness,
A time for rest,
Reflection,
And renewal.
So let yourself settle into the quiet magic of this moment.
As you walk further into the forest,
You come across a clearing.
Above,
The sky is vast and pale,
Dotted with the faint glow of stars emerging in the early evening.
A gentle winter wind stirs,
Swirling snowflakes in the air.
The wind is ancient and wise,
Carrying the energy of release,
Visualizing holding the weight of the past year in your hands,
A memory,
A fear,
A habit,
Or perhaps even a story you're ready to let go of.
Notice its texture and form.
Is it heavy like stone,
Or light like feathers,
Or fluid like the water?
As the wind picks up,
Offer this weight to the breeze.
Feel the wind gently lift.
Lift it from your hands,
Carrying it upward,
Dissolving it into shimmering light.
Feel the lightness in your body as you whisper,
I release what no longer serves me.
I am free.
Now imagine,
As the wind settles,
You notice a soft golden glow through the trees.
It calls to you,
Warm and inviting.
You follow the light until you arrive at a small clearing where the fire burns brightly.
The fire is surrounded by smooth stones,
And its heat radiates outward,
Melting the edges of the snow.
Take a seat near that fire.
Feel its warmth seeping into your skin.
And close your eyes and listen to the crackling flames steady and alive.
This fire is your inner light,
Your strength,
Your resilience,
Your creativity.
As you gaze into the flame,
You begin to reveal the truths about your year ahead.
What part of yourself do you want to nurture?
What inner qualities do you wish to bring forward?
These beautiful messages rise like sparks from the fire,
Each one illuminating a path for you to follow.
In your eyes,
You notice a small pouch resting on the ground.
When you open it,
You find tiny seeds.
Each one glowing faintly with life.
These seeds represent your intentions,
Your dreams,
Your hopes,
Your desires.
The ones you wish to embody.
In your mind's eye,
I want you to hold one seed in your palm.
Feel its smooth surface,
Its tiny weight vibrating with potential.
And now whisper your intentions into the seed.
Perhaps it's peace or connection.
And feel the breath infuse that seed with energy.
Now besides the fire,
You find a patch of soft snow covered earth.
The ground here is warm,
Alive beneath its frozen surface.
I want you to dig gently into the soil and place your seed within it,
Covering it with care.
And imagine that seed sinking deep,
Cradled by Pachimama.
And even in that cold stillness of winter,
It begins to take root.
Knowing that planting the seed with love and trust,
You honor the cycles of rest and growth.
Now that your seeds have been planted,
I want you to rise from the fire.
And notice a path stretching ahead of you,
Lined by tall,
Graceful trees.
Snowflakes fall softly,
Catching the light of the moon and the stars above.
And begin to walk along this path,
Feeling each step.
How steady and deliberate.
Notice the sensations around you.
The sharp freshness of air filling your lungs.
The gentle weight of snowflakes melting on your skin.
The quiet rhythm of your steps echoing through the forest.
And as you walk,
You see a glimpse of what lies ahead.
And what's coming.
Moments of joy and connection and growth.
Trust in these images.
Knowing that they will unfold in their time.
Feel the strength in your body,
The fire within you glowing brightly.
And whisper to yourself,
I trust the unfolding of my journey.
I walk forward with grace and strength.
And as the path begins to circle back,
You find yourself once again at the edge of the forest.
Turn to look back at the fire glowing softly in the distance.
Remembering the seeds you've planted.
And the beauty of the winter landscape.
Bring your hands together over your heart and breathe deeply.
Silently expressing the gratitude.
Thank you for the lessons of the past.
Thank you for the stillness of the winter.
And thank you for the light within me.
And back to your breath.
Taking a deep inhale in through your nose.
And deep exhale through your mouth.
Taking a final deep breath through your nose.
Telling the cool clarity of the season.
Connecting to the warmth and the love.
The love within.
Slowly bringing your awareness back to the present moment.
Back into the space that you have created for yourself.
Maybe wiggling your fingers and your toes.
You can open your eyes.
Thank you for taking this time to connect with yourself.
With this journey through time and possibility.
Connecting those images,
The things that you have seeded.
And maybe taking some time to journal for yourself.
Thank you once again.
