What if your next step didn’t come from striving, but from being deeply at peace with where you are? This short meditation invites you into the space of contented ambition ( a term Wayne Dyer used to use) — a way of moving forward that isn’t driven by comparison, urgency, or the feeling that something is missing. Instead, we begin from wholeness. From enoughness. From love. This 9 minute meditation is for anyone who wants to grow, create, or evolve without hustling against themselves. For those who are ready to set ambitious discontent aside + be fueled by devotion rather than dissatisfaction.

Settling in to a comfortable position.

And finding your breath.

Noticing the way that it moves in and out of your body.

Let that be the way that you begin to tether yourself to this experience.

And then draw a big breath in with me.

Take a big inhale and just let it go.

Allow yourself to return to that natural,

Normal breathing.

And maybe recognizing in the space how easy it is for our minds to convince us that there's more,

That we should be doing more.

It's this beautiful and sometimes complicated innate pull to grow.

And this pull to grow,

To expand,

To become often originates from one of two places.

Sometimes it originates from a place of discontent,

From a place of not liking where we are,

A place of distrusting and detesting our body,

Our relationships,

Our jobs.

And we can call that ambitious discontent.

And the second place this growth can come from is a place of peace,

A place of acceptance,

A place of worthiness and enoughness.

And when we move from that place,

We can call it as Wayne Dyer once did,

Contented ambition.

Now,

Both of these terms have us growing in multiple ways,

Upward and outward,

But they are entirely different.

In ambitious discontent,

We can very quickly feel fatigued and overworked and overwhelmed.

Our efforts come from a mindset of lack.

And before you know it,

We ourselves can feel lacking.

And we can feel disillusioned.

But when we move from a place of contented ambition,

It's a place where we might feel full and whole and holy.

And so I want you for a moment to turn inward and begin to recognize some of the actions that you've been taking lately,

Some of the movements that you've been making in your own life and trace it back to its roots.

Notice if it's coming from a place of acceptance,

Of peace,

Of gratitude,

Or a place of discontent,

A place of chaos.

Just by looking,

Just with the practice of insight,

We can begin to shift from a closed heart to an open one from a place of lack to a place of deep reverence and gratitude.

And maybe you do that here.

Maybe you take a moment to root yourself in that place of peace,

Of openheartedness,

Of thoughtfulness,

Of thankfulness.

And in this space,

Making a vow to yourself to move forward from that foundation.

Feel that expansive energy of the heart.

Sink into it.

Let that energy,

That vibration of love become the bedrock of your beliefs.

And then do this with me.

Take a great big breath all the way in and out.

And when you're ready to return,

When you're ready to fall asleep,

Or when you're ready to begin again,

From my heart directly to yours,

Namaste.
