Hi there.
How are your meditations these days?
I'm asking because I'm getting a lot of calls from my clients and some friends,
And they're saying,
Hey Ed,
What's going on with my meditation?
I'm having all these crazy thoughts,
My body is filled with very unusual sensations,
And it feels like I don't know how to meditate anymore.
And it's a wonderful opportunity for me to remind you that meditation is a very profound process and not just a technique to get into a great place.
It's not just a way of getting into a beautiful unbounded place.
Sweet spots of meditation where we feel just absolutely divine.
We feel one with the universe,
No mind,
No body.
I mean,
It's wonderful,
And that should happen from time to time.
But the idea is that meditation is a process that involves our mind and body.
We forget sometimes that we're sitting down to meditate,
And our purpose is to have a good spiritual experience,
To expand,
To grow.
And we forget that in order to do that,
Our minds and body need to cooperate,
Need to be in a wonderful,
Relaxed space where we can allow those deeper experiences to occur.
The mind and body is part of our meditation,
Although sometimes it doesn't feel that way.
Because what happens is when we meditate,
Our mind and body get relaxed.
The mind goes in,
The body goes in,
We reach deep levels of relaxation.
And if our body is relaxed enough,
We can go down really deep and have a wonderful experience.
But if there are a lot of mental or physical stresses in the body,
Imprints from what's going on in the world,
Then that's not going to happen.
But what is happening is that your meditation is releasing them.
You're thinking a thought,
And you think,
Oh,
I'm thinking about what's going to happen in politics.
But what you're doing is you're actually releasing the tension within that thought.
The body is releasing its ability,
Because we're getting deep rest on the levels of the mind and body.
If you're meditating effortlessly and easily,
Then you're going in,
And you're relaxing.
And what's coming up is the mind is going to think thoughts corresponding to the level of the body and how deep it is in relaxation.
It's going to release tensions and stress,
Just like in sleep.
So even though you guys are having incredible thoughts,
Powerful thoughts,
Physical sensations,
It's still good,
Correct meditation.
It's just that we're used to our body being more relaxed,
And therefore not needing to release and unstress in meditation.
But the times are upon us,
And our natural tendencies of our mind and body to release this stress is coming forward into action,
Just like our sleep can be disturbed,
Or the sleep can be involved in a deep level of rest.
So take it easy.
Don't worry.
You're meditating correctly,
Okay?
It's just that your mind and body need to catch up.
And when it does,
You'll be able to settle into that deep place and go back to those wonderful experiences that you're used to having,
Or the level of calmness that you're used to achieving in meditation.
Just follow the rules of your meditation.
It should be easy.
It should be effortless,
Right?
And as long as you're meditating easily and effortlessly in the technique that you're using,
Then everything else is going to be fine.
And we all have to go through this together.
Yeah,
It's so easy to forget that we have a human body when we go into those deep levels of meditation.
So these times are reminding us those finer aspects that we are meditating correctly.
We are releasing tension and stress,
Relaxing the body and the mind in meditation,
Only it's got to let go of it.
It's got to go somewhere,
All right?
Okay then,
You take care.
Have a nice day.
Bye.
