Meet your Teacher

Ed Fox is the founder of the MindBody Awakening curriculum, a speaker, meditation teacher, and stress and trauma coach who has touched the lives of thousands of people seeking emotional and spiritual freedom. At 21, Ed experienced a radical spiritual awakening and was encouraged by his teacher, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, to share meditation around the world. His journey later led him to study with Don Miguel Ruiz, learning the Toltec tradition of releasing the “dream” of negative beliefs. Over time, he integrated these teachings with practical tools for relieving stress, anxiety, and PTSD. With more than 40 years of teaching experience, Ed has cultivated a program that blends the essential energy of our pure being, ancient meditation traditions, and modern mindfulness. His approach creates a safe, supportive atmosphere for learning how to empower oneself and thrive in today’s complex world. At the heart of Ed’s work is the belief that happiness and fulfillment don’t come from accumulating knowledge—they arise naturally when we uncover what is already within us. He teaches how to create a unique inner environment that reveals both our deepest self and our natural capacity to heal.

In this lesson, Ed will explain why, when we try to heal our relationship wounds only with our thinking, the solution becomes more like a coping mechanism and doesn't last for long. The wounds, fears, and anxiety from past relationships have been embedded not only in our minds but our bodies. The body needs to be addressed in the solution as well.

An Introduction To Open Space

In this lesson, Ed introduces the term "open Space." Ed explains open space as the ability to experience or witness the mind being triggered by one's partner or the world. This awareness of "Oh, I'm getting lost in an argument" allows each partner to make a different choice; to listen, learn, and express compassion for the situation.

The MindBody Release Technique

In this lesson, Ed shows you how to do the Mind-Body Release Technique. The Mind-Body Release Technique (MBRT) is a gentle yet powerful healing process that works with both the mind and body to free deeply held emotional wounds and triggers. Rather than relying on thinking alone, MBRT helps you connect with the sensations, feelings, and stored tension in your body that keep old beliefs and pain in place. By engaging both the mental and physical aspects of your experience at the same time, the technique allows the nervous system to relax, the body to release, and the mind to let go of false stories. This integrated approach helps dissolve long-standing patterns of reactivity, creating open space for natural calm, clarity, and self-trust to emerge.
