Take a moment to find a comfortable position to lay in,
To settle your body into wherever it rests.
Take a few deep breaths in and out.
Whatever sensations arise and fall,
Whatever pain exists,
Even if we can't lessen it or make it easier,
We'll seek to make some space for and around these sensations within us.
Bring your awareness up into the top of the head and take a moment to imagine an egg-sized little ball of warm,
Clarified butter.
It can be any color,
Have any fragrance,
Perhaps it smells of lavender,
Garlic and butter,
Just sweet and airy.
Maybe it glows a soft yellow or bright orange,
Deep purple.
And as you ground into your spot,
Imagining this ball of butter on your head,
Imagine it slowly melting over the scalp like warm bath water.
You're not worried about any mess,
It stays exactly where you want it to go.
But this butter slowly melts over the scalp and seeps into the scalp.
Everywhere this healing substance goes,
It brings warmth,
Ease and seeks to release any tension or pain in that spot.
Slowly the butter starts to fill up the skull,
Softly wrapping around the eyeballs,
Relaxing the vagus nerve,
Moving down into the jaw,
Releasing any clenching.
It pours over the skin,
The ears,
The back of the head,
Moves through the mouth,
Relaxing the tongue.
And then the butter keeps descending down the body,
Filling and coating the neck,
Providing ease for your breath to pass through and warmth like a heating pad for the muscles in the neck.
As this butter moves down your body,
It pushes beneath it any toxins,
Any tension,
Any stuckness.
And it continues to flow down the upper chest,
The arms.
You feel your lungs gently held and supported as they expand and contract.
And the butter moves down into the lower belly,
Swirling,
Gently caressing each organ,
Sending healing into each space between the ribs.
It just fills the lower half of the arms,
Moving into the hands,
Making them soft like water.
And the butter continues to flow down the torso,
Into the hips and glutes,
Relaxing the pelvis.
And further down,
Filling the thighs,
The knees,
Making space,
Easing,
And flowing down the calves,
Ankles,
And feet.
The butter fills and coats your entire body,
Slowly cooling any temperatures that have risen or warming any cold spots of the body.
Take a few deep breaths in and out,
Slowly regulating all the systems at play in your body,
Digestion,
Blood flow,
Inflammation.
Take a moment to rest,
Completely held by this healing substance,
And then let it slowly drain,
Imagining it leaving the top of the head,
Draining out the soles of the feet.
Slowly,
It pours out,
Leaving the chest,
Leaving the belly.
And pause as you imagine the butter just in the lower half of the body,
And pooling around you,
Like a little bath.
Take as long as you'd like to sit here in this bath,
Half filled in your lower body,
Grounded into your spot,
Feeling the ease and the aid,
The regulation of this healing substance,
And then let it drain out completely,
Leaving your body,
Leaving the area around your body.
And take a moment to see how you feel,
Even if your pain is still the same.
Perhaps there's a way it could be different.
And take a moment to rest,
Imagining it leaving the top of the head,
And then let it slowly drain,
Regulating all the systems at play in your body,
Digestion,
Blood flow,
Inflammation,
And then let it slowly drain,
Imagining it leaving the top of the head,
Leaving the area around your body,
And then let it drain out completely,
Leaving the area around your body,
Regulating all the systems at play in your body,
And then let it drain out completely,
