The more self-compassionate you are to yourself,

The more compassionate the world is to you.

So here are three scientific reasons why you should never shout at anyone.

And the scientific reasons suggest that it is in your best interest.

The first,

We all have mirror neurons.

We mirror what others do in front of us.

This is why who is around you,

Who you spend time with is incredibly important because you physically start to mirror their voice,

Their mannerisms,

Their way of being.

And the flip side of that is that others copy your behavior.

So if you shouted them,

They'll shout at someone else,

Probably including you.

We directly create the world we are in because other people mirror us.

They mirror what we are.

So you live in a world that is a mirror of you.

That's the first reason.

Second,

There's the problem of adaptation.

If you shout at someone today and that's how you decide to communicate to be heard,

It means that tomorrow,

You'll just need to shout at them louder and louder and louder to get their attention.

That's the adaptation.

You wanna be the person who enters a room and you can whisper and people will still listen to you because they respect you.

The more you shout,

The more you eat away at that respect by misusing your voice,

Including its volume,

In a way you lose your voice.

And the third reason is that when you shout at someone,

Especially kids,

They experience a lot of stress.

They are flooded with stress hormones.

And in that moment,

There are parts of their brain that freeze,

Including the parts of the brain responsible for emotional intelligence.

You don't wanna be talking to a bunch of emotionally unintelligent people all the time.

Use your voice wisely.

When you shout at someone,

The amygdala activates and the frontal cortex freezes.

The frontal cortex is where emotional intelligence lives.
