Most of us have been taught that love and happiness are things we must earn through achievement or perfection. But love is not a performance; it is a presence. This talk is a gentle inquiry into the fears that keep us from happiness and the illusions that lead us to believe we are not "enough." By placing a hand on the heart and asking the deep questions, we learn to dismantle the barriers to our own joy and return to love as our primary value.

There's a real thirst in the air for love,

And not just because it's Valentine's Day soon,

There's a thirst in the air in our society for true love.

So put a hand on your heart,

Close your eyes,

And ask yourself,

How can I love more?

Seeing what answer arises,

How can I love more?

Where do I close my heart?

Why do I close my heart?

Keep the hand on your heart and ask yourself,

Which fears keep me from happiness?

Which fears stop me from being happy?

And what am I attached to more than the truth of my heart?

What am I attached to more than the truth my heart is telling me?

And where do I try to deserve love?

Where do I try to earn love?

Where do I put illusions higher than my own heart?

And finally,

What is taking away from my ability to love?

I put those same questions in the caption.

Think about them.

Because the thing that is truly valuable is love.

We're all thirsty,

Hungry for love.

There's less love being passed down parent to child,

Partner to partner,

Because we're exhausted.

By technology,

By the news,

By demands,

By 24-7 work,

We're exhausted.

We need to come back to love as a true value.

I hope you join me in that.
