(Wk 3) Duality + Contrast Part 1 - Unleash Your Peace

And welcome back to Unleash Your Peace.

My name is Elly Shojja.

Every single week,

We pick a different topic to dive into.

And we take five episodes throughout the week published Monday through Friday to dive into this topic.

And all the topics are meant to go deeper and deeper into that internal world.

Because it's my belief that when you go inward,

When you turn the lens inward,

We have an opportunity to release all of this weight of the unwanted pain we're carrying.

We have an opportunity to tap into lasting internal peace that is already within us.

And we have an opportunity to live our best lives yet.

And that is exactly what my wish is for you.

Because I know that when you live from a place of joy and peace and happiness,

You don't just incrementally improve the quality of your life.

You actually exponentially innovate every aspect of your experiences on this physical plane.

Now we are on our third week here.

And the first two weeks have been a lot of fun.

Two weeks ago,

When we started this journey,

We talked about the nature of the human being,

How the human being has two parts,

The physical human part that exists in the physical world and then the non-physical beingness of us that is that infinite potential,

The greater part of us,

That inner being that holds all of our potential.

Last week,

We dove into that non-physical part of us by looking at quantum physics,

What science is saying today.

And we use some of those findings to understand what the inner being actually might be,

How law of attraction works,

What inspiration is,

How we create what we want to create in this world.

Now,

This week,

We're going to balance the discussion out just a bit more.

And we're going to talk about the physical human experience here on earth.

Our topic for this week is duality and contrast.

And we're going to answer questions such as,

What is life?

Why are we here?

Why are we doing this life thing?

Why does it feel like we're always being tested and are we being tested?

And if we are being tested,

How do we pass this test?

It feels kind of never ending.

And why does it feel like in order to succeed,

We always have to suffer?

And do we actually have to suffer in order to succeed?

Can we succeed without suffering?

What is the nature of duality?

What is the nature of contrast?

Why is it necessary?

Why do people say that progress and creation come out of duality and contrast?

So we're going to really dive into this and understand this topic in a very intimate way in order to release all of the suffering that you are falsely carrying.

I believe that a lot of our self-imposed suffering comes out of a misunderstanding.

We somehow along the way have misunderstood the purpose of contrast.

The reason there's contrast in this world is to help us understand what we don't want so we can know what we do want so we can create our preferences.

So it is to help us create.

However,

What we have been doing with contrast is we have been using it to create suffering for ourselves and for those who are around us,

Whether we love them or not.

So the dictionary describes duality as an instance of opposition or contrast between two concepts or two aspects of something or a dualism.

So when you think of duality,

Dual,

It's two.

So we're talking about two sides of a coin.

And when we look at the world around us,

It is not hard to see duality everywhere that we look.

We have life and we have death.

We have up and we have down.

We have light and we have dark.

We have good.

We have evil.

Everything that we encounter somehow also has its opposite.

Now if you take into account what we have learned so far about the nature of the human being,

That we are nonphysical beings having a physical experience.

That is duality at its core.

Our very existence here is a duality.

So then everything that we have created here is a reflection of that duality.

But what we often miss about the nature of duality is that one side of the coin is not better or worse than the other side.

They simply exist.

So up is not better than down.

Far is not better than close.

Light is not better than dark.

Good is not better than evil.

Now the reason I say that is because one side of the duality cannot exist without the other side.

Without light,

There is no darkness.

Without up,

There is no down.

Without far,

There is no near.

Without a concept of weight,

There is no weightlessness.

And without questions,

There are no answers.

Without problems,

There are no solutions.

Without one,

The other simply cannot exist.

So without duality,

Nothing can exist.

And the reason anything exists at all is because of duality.

So duality makes life and existence a possibility.

Now on this planet specifically,

When we look at the world,

There is no two things.

There's no two sides of any coin.

Everything that we look at has many,

Many,

Many possibilities.

I'll give you an example.

There's not two genders.

We have 20 different genders.

There's not two hair colors.

We have thousands of hair colors.

We don't have light and dark.

We have an entire spectrum that ranges from super-blendingly bright to pitch black.

We don't have black and white.

We have an entire spectrum of grays in between.

We don't have two types of food.

We don't have two types of clothes.

We don't have two types of rugs.

We don't have two types of green even.

Every single thing that you look at,

Whether it's a shade,

Whether it's a thing,

Whether it's a person,

Whether it's a feature,

Whatever it is,

There is not one or two options.

We have an entire spectrum of options.

And often,

The number of the options depend on how many people you have in the room giving you their opinion about it.

So that is contrast.

And contrast is beautiful because without contrast,

There is no creation.

So without duality,

There's no existence.

Without contrast,

There's no creation.

Because if there's no contrast,

How do you know what you prefer over something else?

What is there to prefer?

What is there to choose without contrast?

Without contrast,

How do you know what you like and what you dislike?

There is no like or dislike without contrast.

Without contrast,

There's no preference.

And without preference,

There's no creation.

And without creation,

There's no expansion.

So our entire expansion is dependent on the existence of contrast.

And the fact that we have so much contrast in this world that we live in allows us to expand exponentially.

The things that we have achieved in the last 200 years is nothing short of miraculous.

So if you went back a few hundred years ago and pulled somebody aside on the street and you said,

You know where I come from,

You get inside a metal tube and then the metal tube lifts up 30,

000 feet into the air and then it travels at 500 miles an hour to some other location on this planet,

Which is round,

What would they say to you?

Are you not sounding insane to somebody only a few hundred years ago?

If you said to someone,

Here is this device in my pocket and I'm going to press a couple of buttons and I am going to not only talk to,

But also see in real time somebody who is 3000 miles away.

What is this person saying to you?

What is their reaction?

These are the things of science fiction and they exist because of contrast,

Because of duality.

So today I simply want to leave you with this idea that duality and contrast,

Yes,

They are pains in our butts because they make life a little bit more difficult for us once in a while,

But they are absolutely necessary because without duality there would be no existence and without contrast there would be no creation and there would be no expansion.

This week we're going to dive so much more deeply into this topic.

This is one of my favorite topics because when you release your attachment to being inconvenienced by duality and contrast,

What you actually do is you open up the doors to expansion in such a beautiful way and you release all of your suffering.

There's no need for suffering at all once you do this.

So I'm very excited about this topic.
