Hey there,

My name is François and today I want to share with you some insights to support your personal growth and ultimately help you create more success,

Happiness and fulfillment in your life.

But before that,

Why are you a member of Insight Timer?

I mean,

What really made you come here?

Change.

You want something to be different in your life.

Your mental health,

Stress level,

Happiness,

Grief,

Connection with yourself,

Or just peace.

What's really funny is that,

In reality,

Nobody wants change.

What we want is the results on the other side of change,

Because change,

It's uncomfortable.

So we keep postponing our best life for later,

And make the mistake to think that,

Well,

We have time.

I learned the hard way that we have the illusion of infinite time.

You know,

I will never forget that moment when I was hanging on a tree,

Almost being swallowed by a deadly tsunami.

Around me,

Thousands of people were trying not to drown or escape from the collapsing building that was caused by the earthquake that happened just a few minutes before.

I was there,

Hanging in a tree,

Looking at a tsunami coming straight at me.

And I thought,

That's it,

I'm going to die.

I got really lucky that day,

4,

000 people died.

I lost a lot of friends.

It was a really dark phase of my life.

I mean,

I was so angry,

I was so mad at life.

But one day I realized,

For all the people that I lost,

And all the people who perished,

I was still alive.

I promised myself that day to live every single day of my life to the fullest,

And help others to do the same.

You know,

Seeing death so close taught me valuable lessons about life.

First of all,

We're all going to die,

I'm sorry.

And second,

When nobody knows when.

It's pretty obvious,

Right?

Yes.

Can you explain why you are postponing your best life for later?

When was the last time that you said,

I should,

Or I'll do it next week,

Next month,

Or I wish?

I want you to close your eyes for a second and do a reality check.

Which area of your life is not where you want it to be?

Is it your health?

Is it your finances?

Your relationship?

You want things to be different,

And yeah,

Maybe you did a few things,

But you're not there yet.

And you feel kind of tired and frustrated.

Maybe you're doing a lot and not having results,

Or you don't know what to do,

And it turns into not doing anything.

You feel trapped.

You look around and see people having what you want.

You think it's not fair,

So you complain.

And you slowly lose your willingness,

And you start feeling helpless.

It seems that nobody gets you.

And those bars,

Once an obstacle,

Become a protection.

It's defining you,

And it becomes comfortable.

Do you know what I'm talking about?

Have you ever heard about the famous magician Houdini?

He claimed that he could break out any jail cell.

His only requirement was wearing his casual outfit.

His secret?

He was a talented locksmith,

And he had a small metallic pin hidden in his belt.

He went from one prison to another,

Proving that he could escape from any cell.

One day,

He got invited to a high-security prison and was ready for the challenge.

The media covered the event,

And many people were present to witness the magic.

The guards put him in a cell and left.

Houdini took his hidden tool and started working the lock.

Thirty minutes,

An hour,

Still not open.

He was getting frustrated.

Two hours later,

And still nothing happened.

He was not furious and almost began to despair.

Hours had passed,

And he was still inside of the cell.

Exhausted,

He leaned against the door,

And it opened.

With all the excitement and thousands of people,

The guard forgot to lock the cell.

Houdini couldn't escape,

But the cell had never been locked.

He was locked because he thought he was.

The only place he was locked was in his mind.

The cell you are locked in is your narrative,

The questions you ask and the thoughts you think.

The way out is to learn to master yourself.

You must decide to take ownership of the situation and commit to change.

And there is no quick fix.

This present might have become so familiar that it is now comfortable.

Breaking free requires courage and determination.

You have to get out by yourself,

But you don't have to do it alone.

You can choose to dig a tunnel with your bare hand and get under the bars,

Or have someone change the way you think so that you realize you were never locked in the first place.

I don't know about you,

But for me,

It's an easy choice.

But you need to be careful who you choose to support you.

The personal growth industry has seen an incredible amount of new coaches during the pandemic.

Lots of people realized,

Well,

Their life sucked,

And they thought it would be nice to work from a beach in the Caribbean.

And so they decided to become a coach with just a one-day course for 20 bucks.

And yeah,

That's the sad reality of the coaching industry.

Well,

Coaching is one of the most powerful tools in personal growth,

But nobody needs a coach.

It's like you don't need a car,

But if you want to go to your destination faster,

Better,

Safer,

Well,

Better drive than walk.

So I want to give you four tips on how to choose the best support.

First of all,

Make sure that he or she has a strong why.

You know what I said with the pandemic,

A lot of people just wanted to have a different life.

And so they wanted to become a digital nomad because it sounds cool.

And of course,

Working on the beach,

Sipping cocktails is a little bit more attractive than the reality of most people.

But that's not enough.

For a strong why,

You need to find someone who is deeply motivated to support others and that this is his life mission,

That is his purpose.

Second,

Find someone who is full-time coaching.

I mean,

If you need to have a surgery,

Would you choose a surgeon who is doing it once in a while as a side hustle or the professional who is doing it every single day?

I mean,

Easy choice.

Third,

Find a coach who has a coach.

If a coach really believes in what he is doing,

He has a coach himself.

I mean,

That's called integrity,

Right?

If you recognize the value of the tool,

You're like,

I want to use it for me too.

Otherwise,

It's a bit like someone telling you,

Oh,

You should exercise,

Meditate and eat healthy because it will change your life.

But I don't do it.

Fourthly,

Find a coach that uses a process,

Not a stages coach,

Not a coach that is just asking you,

How are you doing?

What's the challenge?

How can I help you?

See you next week.

You know,

That doesn't really help you move forward.

You need to find a coach that is working on your level of being and not only on the doing.

That's how you're going to change your identity.

So when you're ready to get out and look for support,

Please remember those four different conditions.

Find someone who has a strong why,

Who is full-time coaching,

Who has a coach and is using a process.

One thing I want you to remember is to stop postponing your best life for later.

You know,

If you think a tsunami will never happen to you,

Well,

So did I.

And I wrote a book about it called the illusion of time,

Because this is my message,

That we tend to live with this illusion of infinite time and we don't know what's going to happen tomorrow.

Time is scarce.

Every day,

You have a little bit less of it.

I invite you to follow me to not miss out on daily insights,

Transformative courses and a lot of help to support you in your personal growth in your journey.

Be bold.

Play big.

Cheers.

Can’t tell if I stumbled across this or if the universe sent this message to me when I was meant to find it and more open to receiving it.
