Hello,

I'm Rhys Jones,

And welcome to this Sleep Talkdown and Lucid Dream incubation recording.

Today I'll be guiding you through the process of relaxing your mind,

Preparing yourself for sleep,

And then,

Once your mindspace has been softened,

Sowing the seeds for a lucid dream later on in the night.

In this particular recording,

The Sleep Talkdown theme will be a trip back to the womb,

And the lucid dream incubation theme will be exploring an alien world.

Please note,

You're free to fall asleep at any part of this recording,

So when you begin to feel tired,

Don't hesitate to follow that feeling.

If that happens during the Sleep Talkdown,

That's fine.

If it doesn't happen until the lucid dream incubation,

That's also fine.

First and foremost,

Prioritize falling to sleep.

Do not wait for my permission to do so.

Follow my words until you begin to feel drowsy,

At which point,

Allow yourself to let go and gently drift away.

And so,

To begin,

Please turn off all of your lights,

Lay down on your bed,

And get into a position that you feel comfortable with,

Be it on your belly,

On your side,

Or on your back.

Whichever position you feel most comfortable in,

Adopt it now,

And then make any final adjustments you need in order to feel fully settled.

For example,

Perhaps you'd like to fluff your pillow,

Or maybe you'd like to stretch your legs and then snuggle into your comforter nice and tight.

Whatever makes you feel cosy is fine and should be done now.

If you haven't already,

You should now close your eyes and take a deep breath in and out.

And another deep breath in and out.

Then allow your breath to settle into a normal rhythm,

Forcing it to go one way or another.

Today,

We're going to imagine we're back in our mother's womb,

The place it all began.

It's been eight weeks since you first penetrated the egg and began this incredible journey.

You're minuscule,

Barely half an inch tall,

Delicate,

Yet perfectly protected by the womb.

Light as a feather,

Floating in amniotic fluid.

You're peaceful,

At rest,

Yet at the same time,

Busy developing.

Busy developing your arms and legs,

Your eyelids and ears,

Your fingers and toes.

You're becoming human,

And there's something joyous about this.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

It's been 12 weeks since your conception.

You're now two inches tall and starting to experiment with movement.

A push of the leg here,

A tweak of the arm there.

You're getting used to your body,

Your form,

Growing familiar with it.

And your heart is beating now too.

It's rhythm soothing.

You must say it's quite nice in here.

Warm and safe and gooey.

You could grow quite used to this life.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

16 weeks in and you continue to grow.

You're about four inches tall now and a quarter of a pound.

I've been good to you so far.

Your mother's treated you right.

She's eaten all the right things and gone to bed at consistent times.

And so,

You're developing in just the way you should.

Becoming more and more human every day.

You're blinking now and your fingers and toes have fingerprints.

What a wonderful body you and your mother are creating here.

A body that will serve you well for many years to come.

17 weeks in and you continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You're developing in just the way you should.

It's been 20 weeks now.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

32 weeks in and yet again you feel like an entirely new person.

You think back to your time 3 months ago and it seems like an eternity.

You're even bigger now,

About 4 pounds and you begin to contemplate if there's any other life but this one.

You're so cocooned in here,

So warm and safe and loved.

This is the epitome of bliss.

And so,

Hearing the steady beat of your mother's heart,

You're lulled into a gentle sleep,

A peaceful smile drawn across your face.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And so,

You continue to float there,

Without a care in the world.

And as week 38 rolls around,

Your suspicions of another world loom ever closer.

You love it here but you sense there's more to life than this.

Floating around without a worry in the world,

Your every need being met.

This has been good,

Well needed certainly,

And you'll look back on this time with great fondness.

But it's time to leave now,

You decide.

To explore new worlds.

And so,

You pledge to float for one more day.

And then,

Make the great voyage out.

You are now in a supremely relaxed state.

Either sleeping or on the edge of sleeping.

And so,

We're ready to begin,

Incubating a lucid dream for later on in the night.

By following along with my words and visualizing them as you go,

You'll prime yourself to draw upon these very same images during REM.

There's no need to follow along strictly,

Just continue relaxing and allow my words to wash over you.

Whatever images come,

Come.

And even if you're now asleep,

Know that your subconscious will soak these words in and store them for later.

So,

Let's begin.

You come to in a swamp,

Stood up,

Feet in tepid water.

The scene around you is murky yet somehow comforting.

You take a few tentative steps forward sloshing around in the water unbalanced.

There's an array of delicate and exquisite plant life teeming around in the water beneath you.

It's exotic looking and as your legs brush up against it,

You feel it softly tickling your skin.

Interesting place,

You think.

Looking around,

Contemplating your next steps.

You're in a swamp,

Stood up,

Feet in tepid water.

The scene around you is murky yet somehow comforting.

You take a few tentative steps forward sloshing around in the water unbalanced.

After trekking for another few minutes,

You suddenly realize that there's a great weight on your back.

Oh,

You're carrying a backpack.

So,

You sling it off your shoulders and find a nearby rock to place it on whilst you rummage through its insides.

Curious to see if you can find anything to aid in your journey through the swamp.

There's all sorts in that.

But the thing that catches your eye first and foremost is the torch.

And so you grab it,

Zip up the back,

Sling it back over your shoulders and continue journeying into Your way forward is eventually blocked by a huge plant-like structure.

It's a deep,

Deep shade of green and has a row of strange looking overgrowth all along the bottom of it.

You get closer and squint your eyes.

The overgrowth actually looks like tentacles.

Wait,

Is this thing alive?

You wonder.

Plants are alive too,

Of course,

But you wonder if it's alive in a different sense.

In a more complex sense.

It certainly looks like it.

So you shine your torch up onto it.

And as you do,

The plant-like structure separates,

Splitting in two and slowly drifting apart.

It's like it's clearing the way for you.

Are you alive?

You ask.

You could say so.

It responds.

And in tandem with its words,

A group of creatures now emerge from the swamp beneath you.

Beneath you,

Beside you,

Behind you,

There,

Everywhere.

Just floating,

Reminiscent of a shoal of squid back on Earth.

But these are something entirely different.

They start murmuring in unison.

We're dreaming.

We're dreaming.

And without any doubt or question,

You believe them.

Now lucid,

You venture through the parted plant mass and arrive in the final area of the swamp.

Similar to what came before,

But not quite.

It's cordoned off around its edges by a tall bushy hedge.

And because of this,

It feels more private here.

Quieter and lighter somehow.

So you walk forward and as you do,

The swamp's nests disperse and one of the creatures from earlier emerges from the center.

You go right up to it and gaze into its alien eyes.

What looks back is both exotic and familiar.

Its skin is wrinkly and grey and its eyes pulse strangely.

But yet,

There's consciousness there and you recognize it as the same consciousness that lies within you.

We're not so different,

You say to the creature.

Surface appearances aside,

The core remains the same.

It's always the way.

It's always the way.

You have now successfully planted the seeds for a lucid dream later on in the night and have primed yourself to recognize it as such when it occurs.

You're now also in a state of supreme relaxation.

Fully at ease.

Either sleeping or just now ready to begin the first phase of sleeping.

And so,

With that,

I draw this session to a close.

Remember,

You are a lucid dreamer.
