Be transported to the Sonian Forest, that is 4,400 hectares (10,920 acres) of top European nature that exists as a vast enchanting forest on the edge of Brussels, Belgium. The Sonian Forest is a remnant of the centuries-old Silva Carbonaria (“ Charcoal, Forest”), just like the Hallerbos, the Meerdaalwoud and the other Brabant forests. At the time of the Romans, the Silva Carbonaria extended from the banks of the Rhine and Moselle all the way to the North Sea. In the recording, you'll hear the sounds of nature that inhabit the forest and the human visitors that enjoy the forest year round. This recording is ideal for background sound as you meditate or relax and visualize yourself being transported to this ancient and modern-day forest.
