We're bigger than our fear,
We are.
And it's in rather than running to the cookie jar,
The bottle of wine,
Or whatever it may be to distract ourselves.
From having to feel these inherently challenging.
Experiences,
These emotions,
These sensations that are hard to be with,
Fear or anger,
Shame,
Jealousy,
Whatever they may be.
It makes sense that we would want to run from them to things that give us temporary sources of pleasure.
But real freedom is found in running the game.
Not to these external sources of temporary pleasure,
But to ourselves.
And it's in running to ourselves courageously and meeting these emotions as they arise that we've run from for so long.
It's in meeting them with love and compassion and courage and gentleness that we can start to transform them.
They start to integrate within us and we start to wake up.
We start to realize how peaceful and powerful we are.
