Luna The Last Dragon - Sleep Meditation Story

Music Have you ever wondered if there are any last dragons still left in the world?

And have you ever thought you may have seen a dragon flying far away in the night sky,

Soaring against the silvery light of the moon?

Well,

These most important of questions will be answered along this very enchanting journey,

Where you may even get to see the peaceful power of dragon magic with your very own eyes.

Your very own eyes which are now gently closed as you settle into the realm of dreams and this magical tale of brilliant adventure.

Now did you know that dragons,

If they still exist,

Breathe very deeply through their big nostrils,

Even when they're not breathing fire?

It's because dragons are incredibly wise creatures and they know that slow breathing is great for their health.

How else do you think they live for over a thousand years?

So how about you try breathing deeply too,

Just like a dragon?

Breathing slowly in through your nose,

All the way down to your belly,

And now letting this air flow out naturally.

That's wonderful.

You're doing this meditation perfectly.

Now take three more deep dragon breaths in this way,

As you just rest back and listen along,

Because with every inhalation you are relaxing deeper into this dreamiest feeling of wonderment,

Where anything becomes possible.

Because high up in the astral mountains of a very special part of the earth lives a certain type of mythical creature which has remained hidden for hundreds of years.

Hidden from humans that is,

And only hidden until now that is,

And perhaps this creature is not merely mythical at all.

Because right at this moment,

An amazing dragon,

One of the last in a long line of these most courageous of creatures,

Is inviting you to join it in its hidden lair,

Inside the most remote cave of the astral mountains.

Now where exactly is this mystical mountain lair?

Well,

Never you mind,

Because with a dazzle of dragon enchantment,

This creature is bringing its cave to you,

Truly.

Because all of a sudden,

You now sense magic mist drifting through the air,

Sparkling and shining around you,

A safe and warming energy of pure peace and love.

And suddenly,

Your room grows bigger and bigger,

Pushing outwards and upwards to become an immensely big cavern of space.

Gradually,

The walls are becoming rock,

And surprisingly,

Your furniture turns to stone,

Morphing into strange shapes now blending in with the rocky walls.

And now you realize,

Your bedroom is magically transforming into a cave.

And this mystical cave is really quite beautiful and mysterious.

As you now notice,

The pictures on your walls have turned into colorful crystals,

Embedded into the stone.

So you step down onto this smooth stone floor and reach out and feel the rocky cave walls,

Marveling at how quickly everything has transformed.

And as you continue to breathe deeply,

You hear the sound of even louder breaths in the same rhythm as your breathing,

Like a drowsy,

Snoozing sound of someone or something sleeping very deeply nearby.

So you look around and up,

And you see that your light has become an open shaft of moonlight,

Shining down through a hole in the roof,

A glittering stream of moonshine making this cave glow in the most enchanting way.

And in this natural light of the universe,

You now make out a huge and magnificent creature lying here.

And you can't quite believe your eyes,

As you see it has wings,

And claws,

And a huge head with big snoozing nostrils.

And you realize that right before your very eyes is a sleeping dragon,

Glittering with every color of the rainbow.

Wow!

As you peer closer in pure awe,

Suddenly one of its eyes flashes open,

Glowing like a beautiful fiery gemstone.

And now it startles you as it speaks.

Oh,

What are you doing here?

You immediately realize it's a girl dragon with a surprisingly sweet and goofy voice,

And she appears to just be waking up from her slumber.

Well,

You invited me here into your cave,

You say,

Suddenly unsure if you have imagined yourself into a very awkward situation.

Oh,

Yes,

Yes I did.

I was dreaming of a chosen one to help me,

And I,

Well,

I just forget how powerful my dreams can be.

And she studies you curiously with her long-lashed eyes.

You're the first human I've seen for hundreds of years.

Um,

Well,

Thank you,

You say.

Mmm,

She nods.

Dragon magic never happens by accident.

You must be the chosen one.

The one to help me rejoin my dragon folk.

I've been in the deepest slumber for so long,

I've forgotten where they are.

So in the dream realm,

I asked for a human to help me.

You feel very special to realize that that human is you.

It feels great to be the chosen one,

Whatever that means.

You just hope you can prove yourself worthy of this task.

And you wonder how you can help such an incredible creature rejoin her dragon folk,

If only there was a clue to be found.

But firstly,

This kind-hearted girl dragon invites you to go flying,

Because she really needs to stretch her claws and spread her wings,

After all these years.

And you can think of nothing better,

As you excitedly climb up her shimmering scales,

And onto her proud,

Strong back.

She feels all warm and comforting.

She has a fluffy dragon mane which feels silky soft under your fingers,

Making her a surprisingly cuddly creature,

As you hold on tight.

And your dragon friend stands up,

And you hear lots of cricks and cracks,

As her dragon bones stretch out happily.

And she begins to amble out of the cave,

Her big body towering to the roof,

And moving heavily from one side to the other,

As she walks towards the entrance.

And to your amazement,

This hollow cave now opens out into a sheer cliff,

So extremely high up in the snow-capped astral mountains.

And now all of a sudden,

Your dragon friend takes off,

Soaring out into the open night sky.

Flapping her beautiful,

Shining,

Strong wings.

And the world is bathed in a moonlit glow,

Enabling you to see quite clearly down below.

And you feel so alive,

So powerful,

And so free.

And you fly about together,

As she moves her mighty wings through the cool breeze.

And there's something you've been wondering,

And so you ask,

Do you think that you might be the last dragon?

Well,

Yes,

Yes I am.

And much to your surprise,

She doesn't seem too sad about this.

I'm the last dragon on Earth,

But there are so many more of us all throughout the universe.

Wow,

Now that is amazing,

You think to yourself.

As your mind opens up,

Wondering about all the stars and planets,

Which may have dragon friends of their own,

Living there too.

And you stroke your dragon friend's silky mane,

As together you fly over a sparkling blue lake.

Do you have a name?

You ask.

Yes,

Luna,

My name's Luna.

What's yours?

And you tell Luna your name too.

And you ask her what her lovely name means in ancient dragon tongue,

The language of the dragons.

Moon,

Luna means moon.

Suddenly you have an idea.

Even though it seems fanciful and far-fetched,

You feel the words coming out of your mouth as quickly as you think them.

Could that be where your dragon folk live?

On the moon?

And a huge and happy toothiest of grins spreads across her massive face,

Which would be quite fearsome if you didn't already know just how sweet Luna is.

Thank you.

Wise human,

Thank you so much.

Yes,

The moon,

Of course.

I knew you were the chosen one.

And you can tell Luna now feels pure joy in her heart to remember where she comes from,

Because she flies even faster and higher,

Spinning and dipping and soaring about with happiness.

And she tells you of the changes of the ages,

And she was sent down to bring peace and harmony to earth,

To use her dragon magic and wisdom as a force for good.

But despite her good intentions,

Some people grew suspicious of her and feared her powers,

Shunning her away.

And so she remained hidden,

Hibernating in the mountain cave for hundreds of years.

Until you awoke her from her deepest slumber just this very night.

And now Luna asks you a most marvelous question.

Would you like to travel to the moon with me?

I can wish you back home to earth whenever you like.

And you can't say yes fast enough,

As you hug Luna tightly with pure excitement.

So Luna now wishes a final goodbye to planet earth,

Blowing out a shining sparkle of dragon dust,

Which glitters in the air like little fireworks and drifts down to the land below.

Because this dragon magic spreads peace and love and joy to the sleeping people everywhere,

Sharing with them feelings of kindness,

Compassion,

Freedom and harmony.

This is the humble way of the moon dragons,

Doing their good work quietly in the night and without any fuss.

As you look up at the full moon,

It seems very far away,

Glowing there in a beautiful ball in the sky.

And Luna twists her long neck to look back at you and gives you a little wink,

Her eyes twinkling with mischief.

And you soon understand why,

Because all of a sudden she takes off,

Flying faster than you ever thought possible,

Bolting through the air,

Soaring like lightning.

And now you are gliding through a light tunnel,

With glorious silvery shining sparkles all around you.

And the moon is getting closer and closer,

Very quickly.

And you realize you are right now travelling at light speed,

All the way to the moon.

And as you reach the moon's atmosphere,

Luna slows down and everything becomes very floaty and dreamy.

And you feel light as a feather and so free in this new space frontier of the moon.

Because Luna flies with ease over the moon,

Dipping and spinning around,

Delighted to be home.

As you see all the different craters below,

Like big speckled circles,

Dotting the moon's surface in the most interesting designs.

And now you arrive at one particularly perfect looking crater,

Absolutely huge,

With lots of big moon rocks inside it.

And as Luna glides down closer and closer into this massive crater,

You now see the entrance to a moon cave.

And you wonder to yourself,

Could this be Luna's dragon home?

And suddenly in a swirl of moon dust,

Dragon creatures start to emerge from this crater cave,

One by one flying up to greet you so happily with joy.

There are dragons of all ages and stages,

From baby dragons right through to great,

Great,

Great,

Grand dragons.

And you admire this wonderful extended family of dragons,

Because you can see how they all look just like Luna.

These magnificent creatures are in different coloured shades,

But they all shine in the same vibrant hues on their smooth scales,

Glittering with every colour of the rainbow.

But most importantly,

They are absolutely overjoyed to see you both,

Welcoming you to their home by flying around you and breathing shimmering dragon dust into the air,

Which dazzles and crackles about like magnificent moon fireworks.

And Luna turns to you with a giddy grin and says thank you for helping her to remember her home.

And you are now a very special friend of the moon dragons.

So you decide to stay for a little while and go bouncing about,

Exploring the moon.

And you also wish to ask these amazing creatures about their adventures on other planets.

Because you know that with a dash of dragon enchantment,

You will be back in your own bed tomorrow,

Ready to start the day as the powerful,

Kind and courageous person,

The chosen one that you are.

But for now,

You will continue to dream and sleep deeply.
