In today's practice this audio recording is to help you with your sleep and to help you relax.
Before we start just a quick reminder if you have serious sleep issues please go to see your GP.
In this practice you are asked to use your imagination so therefore if you are a person you find it's quite hard and this audio might not suit you.
When you are ready please find somewhere comfortable and secure for you to have a good rest.
Just put yourself comfortable enough,
You could be sitting,
Could be lean on something and or you could be lying on your bed.
Now I would like to invite you to use your imagination.
Imagine your body is a tree,
On the top of the head is the tree top.
Imagine the rest of your body you have the tree trunk,
Maybe the roots,
Maybe other leaves and just picture yourself you are a very still and very strong tree in the forest.
That's right,
That's you.
Now I would like you to imagine your body because you are a tree.
Imagine your body is so strong,
So stiff,
You can tense up your muscles now.
Imagine your body is becoming really really stiff really really strong and really really tall.
Just do your best now,
Really focus on your body and your muscles everywhere.
Imagine you are getting really really stiff,
Really really tight,
Really really tight to a point you just cannot do it anymore and then we release it.
Imagine like deflating a balloon,
Your body instantly goes really really soft,
Really really soft.
Yes,
You are still the tree but your body now is feeling really really soft,
Really really comfortable.
We know we have four seasons,
Doesn't really matter where you are in this world,
We all have four seasons.
So imagine you as a tree.
This is now winter time,
Put yourself in the snow,
All the forest now is all white,
Covered by thick and heavy snow.
Your body can feel the cold wrap you up,
Entire body feeling so stiff again,
So cold.
It's very stiff,
Very still you,
Being so calm.
It's winter time,
All you can see.
Close your eyes,
Imagine all white,
Entire forest,
Just like everybody is resting.
The birds,
The plants,
Including yourself,
The tree and everything else,
It is so quiet.
Enjoy the moment with all the white scenery,
So beautiful.
And there is spring coming,
Feel the warmth,
Feel your body is slowly waking up,
In a very very slow pace.
You can gently move your toes,
Feel like you've been softened so much,
Now all the body and the muscles are now feeling like in spring.
You are going to relax,
You are no longer feeling so stiff,
Feeling so hard.
You are softening your body and muscles,
Just like the spring,
The breeze,
The sunshine.
Just let the tension,
Like being in the winter,
Completely break them down,
Just break them down.
Now your body is feeling so light again,
So now,
Feeling so relaxed,
Just like in summer.
Look at warmth,
Look at freedom,
Allow you as a tree,
Your body is now completely different.
On the top of your head,
Sunshine now is warming up your head,
And through there,
The heat and the lovely warmth going down,
It's travelling down and down to the whole body.
You are feeling even more relaxed than ever before.
Let this feeling around you,
And thank you for your hard work,
Let's thank the body from earlier,
We tense up,
And then we release,
And now we are just feeling so relaxed.
Think about in the forest,
What else can you see?
If you are taller than everybody else,
When you look down,
Can you see some flowers?
Can you see other trees?
What else can you see?
Imagine there is a ray of magic light coming through your leaves,
Shining on the ground.
Before we finish today's practice,
There is a question for you here.
If the magic light is shining through your leaves onto your feet,
Can you imagine if there might be one thing to be changed when you wake up in the morning tomorrow?
What would that be?
