Hello precious one.

It's time for you.

Time to lay the day down.

Time to soften and time to rest.

There is nothing left to do tonight.

The world can wait.

Right now it is just you,

This breath and the quiet sanctuary of sleep that is calling you home.

Take a slow deep breath in and as you exhale imagine you are releasing the weight of the day.

One more breathing in ease and breathing out release.

Now let's gently release the day using our senses.

I'll count for you slowly.

No need to think too hard just notice whatever comes.

Notice five things you can see.

Even with eyes closed notice the colors,

The shapes,

Even the softness of the darkness.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Notice four things you can feel.

The blanket,

The pillow,

The mattress,

Your clothing,

Your breath moving gently through you.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Now notice three things you can hear.

The hum of the night,

The distant quiet,

The rain on the rooftops or your own steady breathing.

One,

Two,

Three.

Notice two things you can smell.

Fresh linen,

The night air or simply the neutral scent of your own space.

One and two.

And finally notice one thing you can taste.

Notice what lingers or simply the calm clean flavor of rest.

One.

Now precious one what are you grateful for today?

Just let one or two small moments rise to the surface.

They don't have to be grand.

Might be the smile you shared,

The meal you enjoyed or the breath that carried you through.

What is over now?

What no longer needs your energy tonight?

See yourself placing it gently into a box.

Closing the lid and setting it aside until morning or perhaps never again.

And what is there to celebrate?

However tiny,

A moment of kindness,

A spark of laughter,

A task completed.

Celebrate it now with a smile and let the sweetness of it carry you towards rest.

And now let's allow the body to sink even deeper.

Again,

As you bring your awareness to your forehead,

Let it smooth like soft silk.

To your eyes,

Heavy,

Resting gently in their sockets.

To your jaw,

Unclench now,

Let your tongue fall soft.

To your neck and shoulders,

Let them loosen as if melting into the mattress.

Your arms and hands sinking now,

Your chest and belly softly rising gently with the breath.

Your back supported and held.

Your hips release.

Thighs,

Knees,

Calves and finally your feet all the way to your toes,

Warm and ease.

Your whole body now draped in comfort as if wrapped in a cocoon of the softest light.

Resting lightly on the mattress,

Sleep just a moment away.

And now as your body drifts into stillness,

Let's give your beautiful unconscious mind a gift,

A seed to hold it through the night.

Imagine tomorrow morning,

See yourself waking with ease,

The light gently touching your face,

A soft stretch,

A calm smile.

Now choose a simple intention for tomorrow.

One gentle promise to carry with you.

It could be as simple as tomorrow,

I choose peace.

Tomorrow,

I open to joy.

Tomorrow,

I wake with ease.

I walk lightly with kindness.

Whichever feels right for you.

Whisper it silently to yourself now.

Repeat three times.

Your unconscious mind will keep it safe.

Watering it as you rest,

Letting it take root deep within you.

And now precious one,

It is done.

The day has been released.

Your body is soft,

Safe and free.

Tomorrow's intention planted,

Waiting to bloom.

All that's left is sleep.

So drift now.

Float on the river of your breath.

Surrender to the night that loves you,

Holds you,

Restores you.

You are safe.

You are enough.

You are deeply,

Deeply loved.

Sleep well,

Precious one.
