Welcome to your shamanic drum journey into the lower realm to meet with your power animal.
Be sure to have read the Guide to Journeying in the booklet before you start.
To begin with,
Cleanse yourself of any negative energy.
This can be done beforehand by smudging or right now with your intention by speaking the words,
I cleanse myself of all negative energies.
Lie down or sit if you'd prefer.
Cover yourself for warmth.
Relax your body.
Melt into where you are.
Check your body for any held tension and let it go.
Take your awareness to your breath.
Deepen your breath.
Slow your breathing down.
Relax.
I will drum for you at a rapid rate.
Focus on the beating of the drum.
If you start thinking or getting distracted,
Just bring your focus back to the drumbeat.
Single pointed focus on the drumbeat.
For the journey into the lower realm,
You need to picture in your mind a place in nature that you love that has either a hole into the earth,
A tree root that you can travel down or a cave or a body of water.
You need to descend to travel down a tunnel deep into the earth.
Once you have arrived into the lower realm,
You can call out for guidance.
Pay attention to everything you see,
Hear and feel.
Your power animal may be known to you already and you may be meeting up for a particular purpose.
If you are seeking your power animal for the first time,
It is generally accepted that seeing the same animal three times,
Perhaps in different positions or situations,
Confirms your power animal.
However,
Do be guided by your feelings and intuition as to the animals you see and which one you feel the strongest connection with at this time.
Be aware that the animal you need as your power animal will be to do with its medicine,
Its qualities and characteristics.
Your power animal chooses you.
You may encounter many animals,
Spirit beings and many choices to make there in the lower realm.
Everything will bear a message for you.
Ask questions.
Perhaps there is something else you need to know at this time.
You will have the journey you need to have and perhaps even travel to the other realms.
You may get your information visually with pictures or hearing sounds or voices or by feeling and probably a combination of all of these.
If you encounter anything on your journey that concerns you or that you're not sure of,
Simply ask it,
Are you for my highest good?
If it is for your highest good,
It will remain and you can ask it questions.
If it's not for your highest good,
It will disappear.
When the journey is over and it's time to come back,
I will change the drumming from fast to slow.
At that point,
Say thank you and say goodbye.
Perhaps arrange another meeting and then retrace your steps,
Coming back the way you went in.
So pay attention and enjoy the journey and to start with,
State to yourself three times,
I am traveling to the lower realm to meet with my power animal.
Now pick to your place in nature,
Find your way into the earth and down a tunnel whilst listening to the drum beat.

Take a deep breath.
Wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle your toes.
Take another deep breath.
Open your eyes.
And slowly,

When you're ready,
Sit up.
Write down in your journal what you want to remember.
If you feel a bit unusual,
Have a drink and something to eat.
You can even go outside and lie belly down on the earth if you feel like you need grounding.
