Welcome friends.
In today's morning mindset,
Let's set the intention of walking tall throughout our day and thus fostering an open,
Aware posture in the world.
I've seen so many older people walk with their heads down,
A permanent curvature at their upper back.
When I see this,
I can see a lifetime's habit of walking with their eyes down,
Their backs curved.
At times I see people walking long with their heads down,
Their eyes on the pavement.
Sometimes they are so lost in thought they're muttering some problem to themselves,
Engaged in argument.
Today then,
Let's practice walking tall.
When we consciously extend ourselves upward,
Center the crown of our head above our spine and shoulders,
We open ourselves to the world.
The inner dialogue ceases,
We become aware of ourselves and the world.
We may well find ourselves smiling softly.
So today,
Each time we pass from one environment to another,
From an office to a hallway,
From indoors to outdoors,
Let's raise our heads toward the sky,
Straighten our back,
And pull our shoulders back into alignment.
Then,
Let us walk tall with our eyes aimed high.
In so doing,
We can bring a little bit more conscious awareness into the world.
