I'm so glad you're here.
Maybe you pressed play because today feels a little lonely.
Perhaps you simply wanted to hear another friendly voice for a while.
Whatever brought you here,
You're very welcome.
Let's spend the next few minutes together.
Take a slow,
Comfortable breath in.
And gently breathe out.
Notice the support beneath you.
Chair.
The badge.
The sofa.
Or wherever you happen to be right now.
Allow yourself to settle,
Just a little.
Sometimes loneliness arrives for a reason.
After a difficult conversation.
Goodbye.
An empty house.
Quiet evening.
And sometimes it arrives without any obvious explanation at all.
It simply appears.
If that's how today feels,
I hope this can be a small reminder that you don't have to move through this moment entirely by yourself.
Let's just sit here for a little while If we were sharing the same space,
I don't think we'd need to feel every silence.
We could simply enjoy each other's company.
Maybe you would watch the rain.
Or look out of the window.
Or sit with a warm drink in our hands.
Sometimes it's enough just knowing someone else is there.
Stay here for another easy breath.
Notice the rhythm of your breathing.
In.
.
.
And out.
As you breathe,
Perhaps ask yourself one question.
What would feel kind right now?
Maybe it's another cup of tea walk outside.
Wrapping yourself in a blanket.
Sending a message to someone you trust.
Or simply staying here for another quiet moment.
Whatever the answer is,
Let it be enough.
Life doesn't ask us to have everything figured out all at once.
Sometimes the next small step is all we need.
Take another slow breath.
I hope you know this.
There are so many people who understand what lonely moments feel like.
Moments when you wish someone was nearby.
Someone to share the ordinary parts of life with.
Someone who simply makes the room feel a little less empty.
And for these few minutes,
I hope this meditation has been a little like that.
Just quiet company.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
Take one final slow breath in.
And gently breathe out.
Thank you for spending these moments with me.
I hope you carry a little of this quiet companionship with you as you continue your day.
And remember,
Even the smallest moments of connection can make a difference.
If this practice resonated with you today,
You might also find support in my 10-day course,
Understanding Loneliness.
Together we'll explore why loneliness affects us so deeply.
How it shapes the way we think,
Feel and connect.
And gentle ways to begin reconnecting with yourself,
With others and with life.
Until next time.
Take care of yourself.
