Some urges are so powerful,

I have found myself just putting myself down for having them.

Cravings and urges are normal.

We all have them,

And I need to remember that.

There's urges,

And there's acting on the urges.

The urges do pass.

What I do in that window of time when it's happening,

Makes the difference in how I will feel when the urge is gone.

I regularly ask myself,

How can I observe this urge?

How can I remember my why,

What I'm living for,

Who I'm living for,

And the life I want to create?

I choose to acknowledge the urges.

I choose to acknowledge they can be pretty powerful,

But I'm even more powerful.

I manage my urges with courage and grit.

I sit in this experience without losing myself in this experience.

I choose my values and my priorities.

I check in with myself.

I give myself alternatives to being impulsive.

I am clear on when my urges feel the most intense,

And I am clear on the menu of safety plans I get to pick from.

I know what to do when I feel urges.

I observe them.

I watch them pass.

I engage in what grounds me,

And what keeps me in my purpose,

My values,

And the real me.

I'm noticing the urges pass.

I'm feeling the urges pass.
