Hello,
And welcome to this meditation of discovery and self-expression.
My name is Jude Smith,
And I am a spiritual teacher and shamanic healer.
Ever since I was very young,
I've been asking myself the questions of,
Who am I?
Why am I here?
And how am I meant to express myself in the world?
Perhaps you're like me and have asked similar questions.
The meditation you're about to hear is a journey of discovery,
Creating a momentum of increased self-expression that will continue to evolve long after this meditation ends.
Start by taking a deep breath in,
And then slowly letting it go.
Make yourself comfortable wherever you are right now.
Once you're comfortable,
Allow your eyes to close if they have not already done so.
Continue to slow down your breathing.
Allow your lungs to fill more fully than they usually do.
And when they are full,
Slowly let your breath go.
As your breath starts to slow down,
Notice how everything else is starting to slow down as well.
Notice your thoughts slowing down.
Imagine your heart is slowing down.
Feel your body starting to unwind.
Bring your awareness to the muscles of your face and notice any tension you may be holding there.
Notice any tension in your forehead and see if it would be okay to soften those muscles,
Allowing your forehead to become smooth and relaxed.
Relax your eyebrows.
Allow your eyelids to become more gently closed.
Relax your cheeks.
Unclench your jaw.
Allow your mouth to open slightly if it wishes to.
Soften your lips.
Relax your tongue,
Allowing it to rest gently within your mouth.
Bring your awareness down to your shoulders and see if it's all right to let go a little bit more.
Bring your attention to your arms and feel them resting comfortably wherever they have been placed.
Notice how your breath has settled into a rhythm that feels very natural and less forced,
But more rhythmic and deeper than you normally breathe.
We're going to take a little walk together and you find yourself standing in front of a lovely,
Green,
Inviting forest.
It beckons you to walk forward and you start to walk in among the trees.
Notice the cooler air,
The scent of the trees,
The spongy feel of the moss beneath your feet.
Enjoy the warmth of the sun and the patterns that the sunlight makes as it filters through the leaves of the trees.
Notice the soothing sounds of the forest,
The birds,
A gently running stream,
The whispers of the breeze.
As you continue to walk more deeply into the forest,
Feel the cares of the world slip away.
After a while,
You notice the clearing up ahead.
As you reach the clearing,
The forest opens up,
Revealing a place of beauty.
Drink in your surroundings.
Knowing this place has been designed for your pleasure.
Notice the colors,
The sounds.
Breathe deeply in and enjoy the freshness of the air.
We're going to spend some time in this beautiful place,
So I invite you to create something comfortable to sit upon,
And when you're done,
Take a seat,
Allow the beauty of your surroundings to fill you with peace,
Becoming aware of being very present,
Very alive,
And very alert.
Notice the power and the clarity that comes from stillness.
Be still.
You are perfect,
Exactly as you are.
No matter what anyone may have told you in the past,
Know that you have talents and abilities that are uniquely yours,
Some of which you are easily expressing,
And some which are waiting to make themselves known,
That you were placed on this earth for a purpose,
A purpose that only you can fill,
Even if you are not yet clear on how to do that or what that purpose may be.
Know that you have already made great contributions just by being who you are,
Even if you are not fully aware of their impact or with whom.
The time has come for you to take the very next step,
To more fully share yourself with the world.
If that step is not yet clear,
That's okay,
Because the seeds of your desire have been planted,
And all you have to do is sit back and enjoy watching them grow.
As you sit in this place of stillness,
Allow this moment to fill you with knowing that you are exactly where you're meant to be.
Doing exactly what you are meant to be doing.
Everything is perfect.
Your life has unfolded in the perfect way it was meant to unfold in order to get you to here.
And here is exactly where you should be.
Life is calling you forward.
The circumstances needed to take your next steps will become clear to you over time.
Simply rest in that knowing.
It's time to head back.
So you rise from where you have been sitting,
Heading back into the forest from where you came.
Retracing your steps more quickly now,
Because you remember the way.
In a moment,
I'm going to ring a small singing bowl.
Allow that sound to bring you back into your body,
Back into your space.
And when you return,
I invite you to linger a bit before opening your eyes.
To listen for that soft and still voice that has been trying to get your attention for a very long time.
Listen carefully to the answers as they come.
Why are you here?
What is the very next thing that you need to do to express yourself more fully into the world?
Listen carefully.
The more you listen,
The more you will hear.
Be still.
