Relationships aren't black and white, especially with close loved ones. It takes awareness, intention and healing to allow the relationship to evolve with the circumstances and choices we make on each of our paths and journeys. Choose a person you care about deeply but don’t always resonate with or understand their choices and bring a pen and paper to jot down any notes. Allow these 10 minutes of this experiential healing meditation to transform and shift the energy of the relationship.

This meditation is for anyone who feels like it should be easier with someone that they love and they care about.

We will bring our loved one in and travel side by side to process this healing,

Generating compassion for ourselves and our loved one as we make different choices and live different lives.

Begin by closing your eyes.

Take a moment to acquaint yourself with the darkness.

Imagine in the darkness a white ribbon unfurling in front of you,

Almost like a spotlight lighting up a white road guiding you step by step on your path,

A blank slate unfolding before you.

Even though you can only see a few steps in front of you,

You are not afraid because you know this is your path.

You remember what the path looks like behind you,

But you don't need to turn around.

Walk or travel that path for a few moments and notice how you feel.

What does it feel like on your path right now?

Do you feel gratitude for the path behind you that led you where you are now?

The rocks and cracks,

The highs,

The lows.

Now,

How do you want to feel as you continue on your path?

Maybe you choose an intention or a word,

A memory or a quality to take with you on your journey.

If you'd like,

You can even take a moment to write it down.

Now continue traveling forward however you move and look off to your left.

There you will see a second white path running parallel to yours.

On that path,

You notice your loved one is traveling right next to you at the same pace,

But they are on their path.

Take a moment to notice what you feel as you both continue to walk and move on your own paths side by side,

But in each other's company.

Do you have any sense of how they might be feeling on their path right now?

How do you want your loved one to feel as they continue on their path?

Is there something you can gift your loved one they can take on their journey?

Maybe an intention,

A blessing,

A memory,

Knowing that regardless of your gift,

They have all the resources that they need on their path.

What you're providing is simply an expression of your care,

Your love and your generosity.

Maybe you take a moment to write down what comes to mind.

When you have that,

Continue moving forward and look straight ahead.

Notice the two of your paths merge into a shared circular space.

Come meet your loved one in this space,

Face to face,

Them in front of you,

You in front of them,

Your path behind you,

Their path behind them.

Stay here for a moment and see what you feel.

How do they look in this moment to you?

How do you want them to feel when they see you?

How do you want to feel around them?

Remembering that gift you have for them,

You'll offer it to them now.

As you offer your gift,

You begin to notice that the two of you are experiencing something together.

Maybe it's a conversation,

A shared memory,

Or an activity,

A feeling,

Or even a shift in understanding.

Stay here for a moment and see what you can notice.

Maybe take into your human life,

Knowing that whatever detail you receive now is exactly what you are meant to,

And knowing that the two of you can stop off to visit this place anytime.

.

Whenever you feel ready,

Send your loved one gratitude for this shared moment together,

And find yourself facing again the continuation of your path before you,

As your loved one continues on theirs.

Move forward and notice if you feel different than when you first started on this path today.

Allow yourself to release any pressures,

Knowing that your path is unfolding exactly as it is meant to.

Any feelings or questions you still have are exactly what you are meant to experience right now.

As you begin to turn away from this meditation,

May you know that you are supported,

And your loved one is supported,

Simply by existing on this earth.

Trust that every step each of you take is valuable,

And that even when it feels like moving backwards,

You're both always moving forward on your own path.

Every person in the world,

Ribbons of paths running side by side by side,

Each unique and entirely human,

Beautiful and perfect exactly as they are.

Now the only thing left to do is to release.

Open your eyes and give yourself grace as the meditation continues to unfold within your heart,

And how you feel about your relationship to your loved one.

The effects of this meditation may continue to process for a few days.

There is nothing you need to do except take good care and take the time you need to process what you experienced here today.

In closing,

Give yourself gratitude and permission to honor the love that brought you here today.
