Hello and welcome to this meditation.
My name is Kate Swaboda,
Also known sometimes as Kate Courageous.
And in today's guided meditation,
I'll be encouraging you to work with the voices that can sometimes arise around needing to be better.
Bring yourself into a comfortable for you position.
Your eyes can be open,
Your eyes can be closed.
Maybe you're using this meditation while you're on a break at work.
Take a couple deep breaths.
I want to say that I'm so sorry that someone has told you that you are supposed to be better.
All of us have received this message in some way.
And I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry that you have been told that you are not enough.
You may never get an apology from the actual people who harmed you in this way,
Which is why I'm saying it now.
I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry that they did not see your magnificence,
Your kindness,
Your good intentions.
I'm so sorry if they made you wrong for feeling,
For feeling things down to your bones that feel hard to carry.
I'm so sorry if you've been told that you're too much as another way to convey that you are somehow not enough.
I'm so sorry that they don't know what they're doing.
You,
You are so courageous to show up here.
This is ancestral work.
As you breathe,
Heal,
Repair the tiny fractures of hurt that you've carried,
You set the world on a new course.
This,
Right here,
Right now.
This is the fork in the road of your life.
You could have kept going down the path of recycling what was done to you,
Which only continues the lineage of the pain.
You are here right now,
Pulling up the pain by the root.
You are even pulling up the pain they felt,
The very pain that they wrestle with,
Their own suffering from the lies of not enough that they passed on to you when they said or did what they said or did.
I'm so sorry that it was passed on.
I'm so sorry that it has been yours to carry.
And yet,
I'm so grateful,
Not for the fact that you have endured pain,
But I am so grateful for the opportunity that is in this moment,
Right here,
Right now.
I'm so grateful for this opportunity to be here with you.
You are not alone.
I too have felt what you feel and have come out on the other side.
There is another side.
There is a place,
A bridge that you can walk across,
Where the feelings of not enough or you should be better or you're too much don't come up,
Don't control you.
I would like to believe that when anyone anywhere suffers,
There is always someone else somewhere in the world thinking of those who are suffering.
Someone else somewhere in the world is thinking of you right now,
Offering up their prayers,
Wanting your healing,
Knowing that you can heal,
That you can move past what has happened in the past.
Someone else somewhere in the world is willing to break the lineage of too much,
Of not enough,
Of do better.
Maybe in this moment,
That someone is you.
You are good.
You know this.
Somewhere inside,
You know this.
You are good.
Breathe with that.
You are good.
Breathe in how good you are.
Breathe out how good you are.
And breathe in again how good you are.
And breathe out again how good you are.
Notice that you didn't have to do anything differently.
You didn't have to earn it.
You didn't need to be better.
You are breathing in and breathing out your goodness,
Your inherent goodness.
Right here,
Right now creates the next moment.
So right here,
Right now,
See yourself at that fork in the road.
See yourself at that fork in the road.
See yourself choosing.
Each new day,
Each new moment is an opportunity to choose a new path.
You are deserving of that.
So please,
Choose the path of breathing with your goodness.
Choose the new lineage that will ripple through your family,
Your community,
And the world.
We don't need you to be better.
We just need you to be willing.
We just need you to be,
To be with us.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
