Good evening beautiful,
I'm so grateful you're here with me right now.
Allow your eyes to close,
And bring your attention onto the soft rhythm of your breath.
See if you can slow it down a bit.
Breathing in just a little deeper with every inhale.
Breathing out just a little longer with every exhale.
Let the circular rhythm calm your body,
Clear your mind,
And bring you right here.
There is a worrying inside you tonight,
A spinning,
Flickering storm of thoughts,
Ideas without punctuation,
Worries weaving through every breath.
Your mind,
Beautiful and brilliant,
Is still awake,
Still solving,
Still remembering,
Still organizing.
It hasn't yet realized that there is nothing more for it to carry,
Nothing more for it to arrange,
Nothing more to protect you from.
So we don't ask it to stop,
We don't demand it to be quiet,
We just sit beside it like you would a child too full of energy.
You place a gentle hand on its shoulder and whisper,
I see you,
Thank you,
It's time to rest.
Let the body teach the mind what it means to surrender.
Soften the space around your eyes and let your mouth relax.
Let your shoulders ease,
Like snow finally slipping from the weight of a branch.
Your legs,
Tired from moving you around in the world today,
Are ready to be still.
Your hands,
Which hold so much,
Can finally uncurl.
Let everything loosen,
Let gravity pull you down into comfort.
Now,
If that buzzing in your mind continues,
Don't fight it.
Just watch it.
Watch how it spins in search of control.
Watch how it seeks things to fix.
Let it spin,
Let it tire itself out.
Let it run until it realizes there is nowhere else to go,
Nowhere else to be.
And then,
Offer it a place beside you,
Not above you,
Not in front of you,
Just beside you.
Let your mind lie down with you,
Too.
Let it rest on the pillow of this breath.
Let it listen to the stillness you've made,
A stillness not born of silence,
But of softness.
Here,
In this quiet you've made together,
You both get to let go,
You both get to drift.
There is only the slow exhale,
The unraveling of effort,
The falling into peace without needing to earn it.
Let the breath guide you inward now,
Let it be your lullaby,
Rocking your mind to sleep.
You are the quiet behind the noise,
You are the peace right here.
Namaste,
Beautiful.
