Good morning and welcome to this morning check-in meditation.
The practice of a morning meditation can be extremely potent as we are shifting from the unconsciousness of sleep and into the consciousness of being awake.
Our mind isn't yet flooded with ideas,
Memories,
And thoughts to consume us.
We are in a space where we are cleansed from last night's sleep,
So this is a chance and an invitation to bring more stillness and ease into your day.
So this meditation can be done either sitting up or lying down in bed.
We will begin this meditation with three deep breaths and on the third breath we will close our eyes.
So breathing in through the nose and breathing out through the mouth.
Deep breath in through the nose,
Exhaling through the mouth.
Breathing in through the nose and on the exhale gently closing your eyes if you haven't already.
Letting your breath return to its normal rhythm here.
Now you can check in with the sensations of the body,
Noting any areas that call your attention towards it and breathing into these areas,
Letting each breath cleanse and refresh your body on this new day.
Gently scanning your body,
Starting at your feet,
Moving up to the legs,
Noting your pelvic region,
The abdomen,
Your chest,
Your arms,
Noticing your hands,
Moving up to your shoulders,
And finally your head.
Now simply sitting with the fullness of your body,
Feeling the weight of it,
Feeling your place on this earth and tuning back into your breath here,
Breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
I will now take you through a series of questions for you to reflect on in this space.
Am I willing to let go of trying to change the past?
Am I willing to let go of trying to control the future?
Am I willing to let go of trying to control the future?
Letting any answers come to you and settle into your consciousness.
Lastly,
I invite you to reflect on what your intention is for today.
What does your heart yearn for?
As you plant the seed of your intention in your heart,
Let it go,
Because you can trust that peace,
Compassion,
And presence will flow through you will flow through you in every action you take today.
Know that you can call on the stillness and ease that you've cultivated here at any point throughout your day.
All it takes is coming back to yourself,
Coming back to your breath.
So taking one final deep breath,
Breathing in,
And on the exhale,
Opening your eyes and without moving yet without moving on for your day.
Take in your surroundings with a fresh new set of eyes,
Feeling the shift within yourself,
And feeling ready to step into your day.
So when you are ready,
I hope you live today with the deepest of intention.
Thank you for joining us today.
