Hello and welcome.
This is Christabelle Armstrong.
And this is Keith Parker with Field Dynamics.
So today we're going to have a short discussion about the benefits of energy healing.
So having an energy healing practice,
And we're going to include some of the common themes that come up for people.
So firstly,
For those that are new to energy healing,
Keith,
Are you happy to first define energy healing,
What it means to you briefly?
Sure.
So energy healing,
First off,
It's also known as energy work.
We're talking about the human energy field and that that human energy field is made of electromagnetism or light.
So it's electromagnetic phenomena.
You have a body,
Right?
It's physical and you have an electromagnetic field,
Which kind of surrounds and interpenetrates the physical body.
Normal terms would be something like the aura.
With field dynamics,
We like to use the term multidimensional anatomy.
But that's the thing we're talking about,
Right?
It's really,
Really clear.
And then the definition we work with is that energy healing is a holistic practice in which higher consciousness and energy flows through the practitioner to clear blockage and to stimulate natural physical regeneration.
I feel like it's important to mention that although energy healing is having something of a revival in recent decades,
We see this primarily,
I guess,
Through Reiki,
Which is a pretty common practice.
It feels important to flag that energy healing isn't a new contemporary practice,
Right?
No.
Energy healing would be like a contemporary term or modern language that describes a practice which goes back thousands of years.
So whether it be ancient spiritual traditions or healing traditions,
There have been versions of,
If you will,
Energy healing or energy work going on for a really,
Really long time.
And this term energy work,
Energy healing,
It's just a new term to describe an old thing.
Christabel,
What is it that is so powerful for you about energy work?
Why are you attracted to it?
That's a really great question.
Something I was reflecting on knowing that we were going to have this chat.
For me personally,
Having an energy healing practice,
The benefit of that,
The most powerful element of that is how it significantly accelerates the self-transformation process.
So in addition to the techniques and tools I had before in my life,
So asana and yoga practice,
Breathwork,
Meditation,
Energy healing,
That's something that's entered my life more intensely,
Shall I say,
In the last five years and has become an integral part of my daily practice.
So I really enjoy doing what I might refer to as shadow work.
And by working with the energy field,
It helps me bring some of that unconscious material into consciousness much more quickly.
So this allows a greater access of seeing and understanding my mental and my emotional patterns,
Which can be really challenging,
But is very helpful.
And of course,
That also means feeling them and dealing with them.
So that's another side to the work.
Fundamentally,
It's providing me access to these obstructions that inhibit my insight.
And I think that's something that's really important to me.
It seems to be very important to a lot of the community that work with the energy healing tools.
And simply becoming aware of something is the foundation for change.
So breaking down these perceptual barriers,
Seeing the limiting beliefs more clearly,
Working at the issues at the energy anatomy level,
That's enabling me the consciousness change and expansion and the self-realization that I'm so truly seeking at this stage.
The heading for that one would be accelerating self-transformation process and giving unparalleled access to the shadow work,
Like you're saying,
Or the deep aspects of mental emotional stuff.
Yeah,
It's really important to me.
What about for yourself?
I find that one of the really interesting things about energy work is it provides a kind of empowered management of one's health and wellbeing.
So yes,
We have the format in which we have a holistic approach to our health,
And that includes everything that we consider in our life,
From the food we're eating.
And of course,
We have doctors and this and that,
But there is this thing called preventative care and general health,
Which we can breed or develop in ourselves through our actions and activities.
And energy work is an incredible way to augment or add to,
Supplement,
Complement,
Or make even foundational the way in which you go about your own management of health and wellbeing.
Part of that is understandable in terms of the mechanism,
If we look at the field first model,
And that is that you have this energy field and you have the physical body and we go,
Okay,
What's the relationship between these two things?
And the field first model suggests,
And consider this theoretical,
It's a working model,
But nonetheless,
It's useful to consider this,
That when we have energy blockage in our field,
What we call blocks,
What that does is actually it inhibits things that are happening physically in terms of the physical body's ability to naturally regenerate.
And if you remember,
Our definition is that,
That last part of the definition is that energy healing stimulates natural physical regeneration.
So when we have a hygienic energy field,
If you will,
Just like you brush your teeth every day,
If you have an energy healing practice and you clean your field,
You unblock it,
You reorganize it,
You clarify it,
What it means is that in this field first model is that your physical body is able to have its physiology and its underlying health be functioning at a better level.
And so this is major in one's empowerment in terms of their own health and their own wellbeing.
Yeah,
That's a really important point.
I mean,
What we're really saying there is energy healing is helping to promote and assist natural self-healing.
And we have natural regeneration being assisted by many factors,
Which people might work into their daily life.
So environmental conditions,
They might be very much aware of their nutrition,
Their exercise.
But when we think of the energy field as the most immediate environment of the body,
And then the psycho-emotional blockage we're discussing here,
Which can inhibit the body's ability to self-heal,
This is a really interesting concept that energy healing can assist with this.
So in releasing the blockage,
The energy healing is potentially stimulating the physical body's innate regenerative capacity.
That sounds like a really powerful,
Really powerful benefit.
And I guess we see that time and time again with clients and our own self-practice.
Very much so.
And increasingly too,
Energy work is being incorporated actually into hospital care and things through what's generally known,
The way Western medicine has categorized this as they call energy healing a part of CAM,
Complementary and alternative medicines.
So it's now common for people if they're in a hospital as part of the holistic approach to the person's self,
They might have somebody come in and actually do energy work as part of the thing,
Which helps to stimulate this natural physical regeneration as we've defined.
That's amazing.
It's a powerful consideration that even Western medicine is welcoming these techniques into their environments.
Can you tell me a little bit more about coherency and presence and the relationship that energy healing has to these factors?
Presence is a really big deal.
You only experience life in the present moment.
How is it that we can become more present?
So we're well aware of things like meditation,
Tradition,
Being about becoming more present.
But how does energy healing contribute to that?
Now,
The way it technically does is that it improves the organization of your energy field.
That's this word called coherency.
It's a fancy word that basically describes how the different layers or levels,
The multidimensionality of your energy field become very synchronized and well organized in relationship to one another.
Therefore,
Flows and is very fluid and enables the person to be able to become more settled in the present moment.
We know that being more here and now is referred to a lot in meditation traditions as being in a state of stillness or inner quietude.
Actually,
The thing that I like to use as a visualization for this for people to really get it is that you have a storm.
We're all used to seeing a storm system,
But then there's the eye of the storm.
The eye of the storm is totally still.
There's no flow.
There's just quiet in the eye of the storm.
That's in a sense,
The core of our energy system and the place where we can find that stillness within.
As all of the wind,
As all the turbulence that spins around the field,
As all the layers become really organized,
What happens is we get greater and greater access to that presence and that quietness and that stillness in the center.
Really interestingly for people who have been meditating for a long time,
If they get involved with energy work,
They tend to be very surprised at how quickly it accelerates this access to present moment awareness.
The same is true even for people without much experience doing healing work or even meditation.
The energy work really helps to land people in the present moment with much greater ease than they're used to.
Yeah,
It's incredibly useful.
I really like this analogy you used to the tornado as a child.
I had a dream of becoming a tornado chaser just for that moment of moving into the center,
Into the eye of the storm.
It just looked like an incredible place to be.
It's a really interesting analogy and quite useful.
From what you're saying,
It really seems to come back round to what I was sharing earlier from a more personal experience in terms of taking holistic practices we may have already,
A passion for meditation,
Even a mindfulness practice,
Yoga that we do with great presence,
And expanding upon them and taking them to the next step,
Which is a really beautiful opportunity.
I'm even thinking why people have shamanic practices and slightly more esoteric practices.
This could be a really great accompaniment.
Definitely.
Energy work is incredibly complementary to any holistic practices out there.
Generally speaking,
What it's doing is it's introducing people to a direct engagement with subtle energy.
For those of you out there who are familiar with the yogic terminology,
Gross subtle causal,
The movement from gross to subtle is the same in a sense as saying moving from dense to less dense or from physical to energetic.
If you're interested in extrasensory perception,
There's that keyword psychic stuff.
Basically though,
Learning to engage with that world of energy,
Which is a vast world and a beautiful one to start to refine your sensing to,
It's a natural evolution of people's practices to get more and more subtle.
Energy work really offers that ability to bring that to the forefront of their experience and to start to do that deep dive,
Like you mentioned,
In getting involved in the shadow work and getting involved in what are the contents of my subconscious,
Unconscious memories,
Mental,
Emotional complexes,
Limiting belief systems,
Et cetera.
A lot of that in a sense is in the energy field.
It's the content of the energy field and the way that we think of it.
That's a really nice point as well to land on because some people may want to approach energy healing less from a structural subtle anatomy sense.
Less from the idea of working with the chakras and the meridians and actually coming at it from the angle of wishing to process trauma,
Traumatic experience or memory,
Improving or healing family relationships,
Intimate relationships,
Even something like ancestral healing.
There's this beautiful kind of option to come in from work anatomy to issue,
As you say,
With the structure of the energy field into the content or even common work,
Issue to anatomy,
As it were,
And to be really able to address in a powerful way.
I think that's something that's meant a lot to me to be able to take something I'm struggling with and to be able to apply this as a self-practice and know that I have the tools to do what it is I want to achieve.
Yes,
I think that lands on probably the biggest point for me in all of this in terms of why I love energy work so much and what I think is really the greatest benefit is that I studied so many different approaches to healing work and consciousness development,
Et cetera.
What I wound up coming to was energy work at a certain point.
What I found is that the format of energy work,
Of understanding the underlying principles and the mechanics,
What it really shows you is that you can take anything that's happening in your life,
And I mean anything,
And you have a way of negotiating that internally through the energy field,
Through your mind,
Body,
And spirit system,
Your holistic self,
And doing it powerfully of transforming that,
And you can do that.
You can do that every single day.
I did body work for years,
And it's very hard to do body work on yourself extensively.
Energy work,
If you learn it,
You empower yourself to be able to practice in this powerful way on a daily basis.
Yes,
Truly.
It's the ultimate holistic toolkit,
Or at least it feels that way in many respects.
We touched on some of the common themes of energy healing just briefly there,
Trauma healing,
Family and intimate relations,
Ancestral healing.
I feel like there's a lot of material to explore there.
I know we've had some conversations about that before.
Perhaps an idea is to put that to our next chat,
And perhaps we could share some more insights and experience with relationship to those topics in our next conversation.
Yes,
I think that's a good idea.
Themes of energy healing will be the next one.
This was a good investigation of the benefits of energy work.
Hopefully,
That was useful to those of you who are listening.
Christof,
I want to thank you for your time and contribution to this discussion.
It's very nice to be able to have these conversations.
I look forward to more.
Thanks to those listening.
Hopefully,
We've been able to share some inspiring and insightful ideas.
Many thanks.
Thanks.
