Hello,
Welcome to this breezy afternoon mindfulness meditation.
Find yourself a comfortable position.
Sitting with your head,
Neck and spine straight.
Close down your eyes if that feels comfortable to do.
If not,
You can just soft focus someplace down past your nose.
Begin.
By taking a nice deep breath in.
And exhaling all the way out.
And then breathe in whatever way feels good to you.
Finding your breath in your body.
Just noticing where you can locate your breath.
Perhaps it's as the air enters and exits your nose.
Or maybe.
.
.
You want to focus on the rise and the fall of your body as you breathe.
Wherever it's easiest for you to become aware of your breath.
And you might have already noticed that your mind has wandered away.
And that's okay.
That's what minds do.
They like to think.
Just notice.
That it's thinking.
And very gently without judgment.
Just bring it back to your breath.
Breathing comfortably and easily.
And just noticing what it's like to breathe right now.
And as you continue breathing,
You might want to notice.
What your feet are doing.
And how they're feeling.
Do you notice any tingling or tightness?
Buzzing?
Are they warm or cool?
Again,
Just bringing some of that gentle curiosity.
And then shifting your attention to your hands.
And noticing your hands and what they're doing.
Focusing on perhaps the temperature.
Or the physical sensations.
Maybe you don't feel anything at all in your hands,
And that's okay too.
And then bringing your focus up to your mind.
And just for a moment,
Imagining that your mind is like a bright blue sky.
On a breezy summer afternoon.
We can often think of our thoughts as being the clouds in the sky of our mind.
And sometimes it's a stormy day and the clouds are plentiful and dark.
Or sometimes,
Like today.
It's just a breezy afternoon.
And those thought clouds are just moving gently across the bright blue sky of your mind.
We can allow the thoughts to just come and go.
Like the clouds.
On a breezy day.
This way you don't get caught up in the thoughts or the stories that they tell.
And then your mind and your body are less reactive.
You can just observe the thoughts.
Like the clouds.
In the sky.
On this breezy summer afternoon.
So that there's really nothing to bother you.
And nothing to disturb you now.
You can just be present.
In this very moment.
Watching the clouds roll by.
And letting go.
More and more.
Witchy passing cloud.
And now letting your attention to the clouds.
Drift away.
And bringing your attention back to your breath in your body.
Finding the gentle rise and fall.
And noticing how your body feels right now.
After you've had this nice little gentle pause on this breezy summer afternoon.
And then whenever you're ready.
And in your own time.
You can begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes.
And then gently fluttering your eyes open.
And returning to the room.
Whenever you're ready.
I'm Kelly Dennis.
Thank you for spending this breezy summer afternoon with me.
