Hello and welcome.
My name is Kasiah Gibbons.
I'm a meditation teacher here on Insight Timer and this is your Boots of Power meditation.
This is an active participatory meditation and I'd invite you to start it if it's within your physical capabilities,
Standing up with some space around and in front of you.
If you don't have the use of your feet or are not able to physically step,
You have the option to either visualise or to switch to my Cloak of Power meditation which is in the 10 and 20 minute versions.
So to start with,
You're going to imagine a pair of boots in front of you.
They might be a beloved pair of boots or they might be your dream pair of boots.
If you visualise easily,
You might see them standing there.
Notice what they look like,
Their colour,
Size,
Shape.
If you don't find it easy to really see them,
Just know that they are there and imagine what they might look like if you could.
And then when you have that,
Think of a time when you are really supremely confident.
If that doesn't spring easily to mind,
Think of someone you know who is supremely confident.
Notice the way they or you stand with that confidence.
Notice their or your facial expressions.
What kinds of thoughts are there?
What is that confident person seeing?
Are there any sounds?
When you've got that,
Take a step forward into your boots of power and adopt that physiology.
Take the stance,
Adjust your shoulders,
Your breathing,
Your facial expression.
Try running the kinds of thoughts that come with confidence.
Imagine that you can see and hear the kinds of things that come with confidence.
Feel the boots grounding and supporting you,
Giving you a strong base of power from which to own this confidence.
Allow it to become more and more powerful.
And then step out of the boots and out of the physiology,
Back to your neutral self,
Knowing that you can step into the boots at any time and be strong and supported and confident whenever you like.
