Find a comfortable spot on the couch,

The bed,

Or the floor.

Feel the ground under you.

Take a slow breath in and a slow breath out.

Notice the quiet hum of the city,

Traffic,

Pipes,

Neighbors,

All part of a shared rhythm.

Turn toward your partner,

See them with curiosity,

Not expectation.

This is your 5-minute mindfulness scavenger hunt,

A small adventure through your home and each other's world.

First,

Find an object that holds a memory,

A photo,

A ticket stub,

A gift,

Something that carries your story.

Share with one another what it feels like to touch that memory,

Not the story itself but the emotion it stirs.

Next,

Find something you usually ignore,

Maybe the hum of the fridge,

The chipped cup,

Or the scuff on the wall.

Look closely.

What does it reveal about your life together?

The real,

Unpolished parts.

Share what you notice with one another.

Now each of you find something that feels like comfort,

A soft shirt,

A candle,

A blanket,

Whatever your body says yes to.

Hold it or describe it.

Breathe it in.

Let that sense of ease expand.

Notice how your comforts might differ and how that's okay.

Next,

I'd like you to find something that moves or makes a sound.

It could be the city through the window,

Your breath,

Or the movement of a dog.

For a few seconds,

Just listen.

Let that sound remind you this space is alive,

Full of movement and energy.

Now,

Look around for something that reminds you of your partner.

Trust your first instinct.

Show it or name it to one another.

Say,

This reminds me of you because.

Come back together and take one more shared breath.

Inhale for three seconds.

And exhale for four seconds.

Notice how the room feels now.

Maybe softer,

Maybe fuller.

You didn't go anywhere.

You simply arrived here and together.
