What are you feeling called to create or express in the world? In today’s 5 Minutes In Nature, Liz reflects on what she feels drawn to share with others. She recognises that instead of offering something watered down, it’s vital to speak from the heart—with honesty and clarity. She invites you to consider the same: What are you being called to express or create in the world?

Hello and welcome to five minutes in nature with me Liz Scott and you find me up on Dartmoor.

I've actually climbed a hill today as you know I've been suffering a little bit with the cold and have been out walking but just kept very much on the flat as much as possible.

Today though there was such a shift in the weather.

When I set out there's blue sky,

It still is blue sky and sunshine.

There's a few white clouds around at the moment but this is a an absolute gem of a day for November and I've come up to a field that we locally called Cuckoo Ball and it's got sheep in it at the moment.

Looking back over the old golf course and I can hear below me the rushing gush of the Ludbrook which is very full of water at the moment thanks to all the rain we've had.

Today I want to really bring attention back to what it is you authentically stand in and want to share or express in the world.

In particular I am bringing this awareness to older women.

Often older women feel a lack of confidence,

They step back,

They move into the shadows and if that's you I want to ask you to look again and reflect by looking within.

Seeing what it is you really feel drawn to share,

To be,

What stand you want to make in the world.

You don't have to do anything.

All I'm asking that you do is you reflect inwards and be present to what you are drawn to regardless of whether it makes sense or not.

What are you drawn to?

There's someone I know who lives probably about 70,

80 miles away from me and she is a teacher of the inside out understanding and it's interesting because whilst I'm not drawn to the way that she teaches the inside out understanding,

She is very fun-loving,

She's very friendly and she has a very strong Christian terminology around what she shares and it just doesn't land for me what she shares but what does land for me is that she shares passionately from her heart knowing that this is what she wants to express in the world and that inspires me,

That inspires me to look within and go what is it I'm being asked to express in the world.

The other day I put up a bird feeder outside my office window and no birds arrived and for a few days there were no birds at all in this bird feeder and then a robin came along and then a couple of great tits and then today the robin,

The great tits and a family group of sparrows seem to descend on this bird feeder and I keep looking up from my computer and looking out on these birds bobbing around being brave enough to sit on the bird feeder,

Some of them beneath it on the ground picking up the bits that have fallen out and I'm just inspired by watching these birds.

The bird feeder in a way is a representation of what I'm seeing for myself as I find myself feeling drawn to express a message for older women,

For older women to take a step forward to step out of the shadows,

For me to share a message that is founded in the three principles,

In the inside out understanding and to have a clarity and resonance about being strong in the way that I share that.

In the same way as my friend shares about the three principles and she shares with an emphasis on God and Christianity,

She is drawing to her the kind of people that are drawn to that expression of the message.

And in the same way that my bird feeder is quite clearly drawing birds to it,

Birds come when they know that there is something there for them to feed on.

Not every bird,

Not all types of birds but the right birds and for me that's what I'm seeing today is standing clear in the message I want to share and it might be that I'm clumsy at first or I'm still not quite clear what it is but knowing deeply there is something that wants to be birthed through me and that I am willing to allow that to happen.

And knowing that the right people will find me,

The right people will be drawn to me and the people that don't want what I've got to share,

Well equally they'll know that this is not the message for them.

So that's the question today,

What are you drawn to share,

How are you drawn to be in the world?

Are you rooted in an authentic groundedness of expression?

I'd love to hear from you.

Yesterday I had the affirmation ‘It’s safe to be authentic’. Your post reminded me of that. Thank you Liz 🙏🏻
