
Listening To The Forest

Hello,
And welcome to your meditation,
Listening to the forest.
I am Lola Powell,
Your guide.
Begin by getting comfortable.
Exhale completely.
Allow all the air to leave your lungs.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Relax your jaw.
Relax your eyes.
Continue to deep breath in and out through your nose.
Become aware of your feet.
Feel a soft golden glow.
Begin to enter your feet.
Allow it to fill them with warmth and relaxation.
Let your feet just fall where they naturally want to.
Feel this soft golden light begin to move up into your ankles.
Feel them become warm and relaxed.
Allow the muscles to relax.
Just let go.
Now,
Feel that soft golden glow begin to move up into your legs.
Feel your legs sink deeply into the surface that you are on.
Just let go.
Feel the soft golden light move into your knees.
Allow the warmth to relax them.
Allow this golden light to relax your knees and the muscles around them.
Just let go.
Feel the warmth begin to move into your thighs.
Allow your strong big muscles to relax.
Allow the warmth to drip down from the tops of your thighs into the backs of your thighs and allow them to relax.
Just let go.
Now,
Allow the warm golden light to move into your hips.
Feel it circulate and swirl around as your hips relax.
Feel your buttocks sink into the surface that you are on.
Allow those muscles to relax.
Just let go.
Allow the warm golden light to fill your abdomen.
Feel this golden light filling your entire torso.
The warmth of the light begins to expand.
You take a deep relaxing breath and you just let go.
Allow the golden light to move up your spine.
Feel it as it bathes each and every one of your vertebrae.
Become aware of the slight lift of your back from the surface you're sitting on.
Feel the space.
Feel the warm golden light flow into your chest.
With each breath you take,
Allow your lungs to be filled with this warm golden light.
Now,
Put your focus onto your hands.
Notice the warm golden light relaxes each finger.
Your hands are warm and relaxed.
This golden light begins to move into your wrists,
Up your forearms.
The golden light expands and your muscles relax.
The light moves up your arms into your shoulders.
And on your exhale,
You feel a deep release.
The light now enters your neck.
Your neck and throat begin to relax.
You feel your throat begin to open.
Your mouth begins to relax.
Allow your tongue to drop into a relaxed position.
This warm golden light begins to fill your entire face and head.
Allow your ears to relax.
Your eyes relax.
And that space between your eyebrows releases all tension.
Your forehead relaxes.
Just let go.
And now that you are completely relaxed,
I invite you to join me on a journey.
Imagine that you are standing on a path at the edge of a small forest.
The bright sun warms your back as you face the opening to the trees.
The cool breeze from the forest is inviting you to enter.
The path is clear and wide.
It is easy to follow.
You choose to step into the forest.
All around you,
You hear the beautiful birds singing.
Their sounds are gentle and sweet.
It is as if they are welcoming you into their home.
And so you enter.
As you walk along the path,
You are aware of small birds,
Rabbits,
Squirrels,
Chipmunks,
Romping and playing.
You hear the sounds of more birds hidden in the dense canopy of the forest.
As you walk along the path,
You begin to hear the sound of running water.
You can sense that the water is gentle.
And you begin to naturally walk towards the water.
As you walk,
You feel the leaves under your feet.
You feel the small branches and roots.
It feels so good to be walking upon Mother Earth.
You allow the gentle voice of the water to call you.
And as you walk,
You notice a small clearing in the forest.
In the middle of this clearing is a small pond.
The small pond is being fed from a stream cascading down a small rocky slope.
As the pool is filled,
The water leaves the pool on the other side and continues its journey back into the forest.
Here in this clearing,
You notice some large rocks that are calling you to sit on.
The rocks are smooth and warm from the sun.
You walk over to the rocks.
You take a seat.
It feels as if this rock was made only for you.
It cradles your body and holds you.
As you sit here and relax,
You hear the sounds of the forest and the water all around you.
You close your eyes and your heart is full of joy and love.
You feel the gentle presence of another being near you.
You open your eyes.
Standing near you is a beautiful dear.
Her gentle brown eyes are gazing upon you.
She is completely at ease as are you.
You sit enthralled by this gentle creature.
You feel the love that she has for you.
She is calm and assured in your presence.
You are in awe of her and your gaze just cannot leave.
She has brought you a message.
Somehow you become aware of this message and you are excited and ready to receive it from her.
As you take a deep breath,
Your heart opens to receive her message.
Your heart is filled and overflowing with the love that you receive from her and the message that she has for you.
She stands before you for a few moments.
She gently closes her eyes and opens them again.
One last loving gaze upon you.
She turns around and slowly walks back into the forest.
You sit for a moment longer simply integrating the message that she brought to you.
As you rise from the rock that is so warm and comfortable,
You feel a sense of grounded knowing.
You have received what you've needed.
You gently begin to walk back to the path.
You slowly and calmly walk back to the edge of the forest where the path began.
With each step that you take,
You find yourself coming back into your conscious awareness of the space around you.
You notice your surroundings.
You begin to feel the surface that you are sitting on.
You slowly move your hands and feet.
You gently open your eyes and take a deep breath.
You have now returned to complete consciousness.
Your message from the forest has been integrated into your being.
You take that message with you back into your daily life.

This was so helpful! First, before this meditation, I was in quite a lot of pain, I have RA, and it's one of the rough days. When this ended, I have barely any pain at all! Just amazing! Second, before having problems with my joints, I was an avid gardener and outdoors person. I love the woods on our property. Lately, maybe the last 3 years, I haven't been doing those things much at all. That beautiful deer gave me such an important message. She told me "come play with us again ", "remember the magic". I have had many close encounters with the deer on our land, and they were quite magical! I am taking this message to heart. I will definitely make a great effort to get back out there. Thank you so very much for this lovely meditation. It was very meaningful. ♥️ 🦌 🍃
