Snippets of Wisdom Meditation and Appreciation Do you have a meditation practice?
What have been the benefits?
I meditate daily.
If I don't get to meditate during the day,
I always put on meditation music,
Gentle ambient sounds,
Or singing bowls every night as I prepare for sleep.
I breathe deeply,
Do some stretches while I'm lying in bed,
And listen to my meditation.
I've been doing this consistently for a couple of years.
What a delightful way to drift off to sleep!
I also love using the timer in quiet meditation during the day.
I may decide to hold certain sacred crystals that resonate with me.
Many times,
I choose an anointing oil blend of essential oils that my spirit guides the many have given me.
I may choose a mudra and hold it until I feel that it has completed its transformative work and then release it or choose another.
The biggest benefit I receive from meditation is the quieting of my mind.
I have so much mind chatter.
It's truly a practice that I release it long enough that my resistant thoughts quiet.
In the stillness and peace of meditation,
I sigh satisfyingly.
I feel my spirit rise.
But you know what else rises in my spirit even faster?
Appreciation.
When I'm in a state of appreciation,
I quickly release any resistant thoughts.
They are completely consumed by the pleasure I feel during rampages of appreciation.
There are days that I am in such a state of appreciation that my mind chatter is thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you over and over all day long.
I love those days.
And usually,
I can't wipe the grin off my face.
The smile just lasts all day.
So,
I like to practice appreciation more than meditation.
Don't get me wrong.
I love my meditation practice.
Otherwise,
I wouldn't be a teacher here.
I love creating rampages of appreciation,
Looking for positive aspects,
And looking for what's going right.
So,
I suggest meditating every day and adding a huge dose of appreciation the rest of the time.
Big hugs.
