Every great transformation comes with resistance, uncertainty, and moments of doubt. Through the Portal of Possibility is a poetic journey of breaking through limiting beliefs, shedding old identities, and stepping into a new reality—even when the path is lined with obstacles. With raw honesty and deep wisdom, this piece reminds us that the portal we seek is not a place, but a mirror revealing the strength we’ve had all along.

She saw it in the distance,

Years before it was clear.

She knew it was her destiny,

Even though it triggered all her fear.

It was the vision of her future that always seemed just out of reach,

A life of simplicity that she knew she was meant to teach.

But how could she teach something so foreign if deep down she questioned,

Is this something she could truly align her core in?

Simplicity isn't so simple after all.

It requires surrender,

Heart,

And faith,

Values that made her feel like she was in a freefall.

So she chose to do the work of healing the unworthiness in her soul,

For she knew this was the key to reaching that portal into a better life after all.

No matter how much she planned,

Prepared,

And protected,

In the end it was so much different than she ever expected.

The timing was off,

Her body gave in,

Everyone around her made her question if it was even possible to win.

But what was winning in this big picture of life,

If not choosing to realize that everything is working out just right?

As she owned that power and allowed it to move through her,

She once again heard the portal's calling as if it truly knew her.

It spoke to her in faint whispers that forced her to slow down and listen.

As if awaiting a precious secret,

She anticipated how brightly it would glisten.

But she was wrong in her vision of what came next.

She thought by now it should be easy,

Simple,

Not complex.

As she arrived at the portal's opening,

She fell to her knees.

She didn't realize she'd have to crawl through glass and barbed wire and get stung by all the bees.

So in an act of desperation,

She cried out to the trees.

Unconditionally,

They reminded her that Mother Nature is always available to bring ease.

Instead of feeling like a victim of her stings,

Bruises,

And scrapes,

She looked around her and made friends with the snakes.

The once scary creatures were now her greatest teachers,

Curating their medicine beyond the usual features.

As she slithered around the portal's landmines that were ripe to explode,

She remembered the wisdom to shed,

To release,

And let go.

And now within the portal's clearing,

She could finally stand on her own two feet,

Take a deep breath,

And make space for relief.

She dusted off her knees and straightened her hair and realized she had really made it,

Even if it didn't seem fair.

It was time to accept what she could not control and fully embrace that perhaps there was never a portal at all.

Just an image,

A vision,

A mirror to the soul.

Possibility reimagined,

Taking quite the toll.

For changing oneself is not as simple as it seems,

But it's always worth the journey to learn how your soul can fully beam.

So look for your portal of possibility and don't ignore its fears.

Respond with compassion for your humanity and you'll know what it's like to fully live out your years.
