Welcome to another meditation with Mal.
I'm Mallory,
Or Mal,
And today we are going to be meditating on when life doesn't go according to plan.
I actually have another recording of this meditation where I recorded it walking on the side of the street.
It's a little bit louder for those that might like that distraction.
So that will be uploaded in a couple days.
But for now,
I will leave you with this.
Life never,
Almost never,
Goes exactly how we plan it to be.
There are things that happen,
People we cross paths with.
No matter how much we plan,
There's a chance that what we hoped for won't actually happen.
There's a chance that our calendar of meetings runs late,
Ends early.
Whatever it might be,
There are always things that can come up that aren't quite what we expect.
For example,
In my life recently,
I expected to record a couple days ago.
But instead,
My car had some issues,
And I ended up walking through Dallas,
About a 20-minute walk.
And I encountered some things that I would never have done if everything had gone according to plan.
Now,
I invite you to get comfortable in your seat here,
Whether you're laying down or sitting up.
Get comfortable.
Shut down your eyes if you'd like.
If not,
Maybe bring them to a low gaze.
Feeling your body settle down into this space,
Into the here and now,
Knowing that whatever it was you had planned,
You can take a break,
Be present.
Bring to mind an example or a situation when you had planned out life and it didn't exactly happen that way.
Bring to mind the situation and watch it.
Where did it go awry?
When did life have other plans?
Now,
Imagine what you wanted to happen.
Think about what you set out to accomplish is what actually happened at that time.
Now,
Bring to mind realizing that there are things that happened as a result that would never have happened if life had just kept going on how you wanted.
And if you're not aware of the situation,
If life had just kept going on how you wanted.
Maybe you didn't get to go to one location,
But instead you got to bump into an old friend and catch up.
For me,
I got to take a walk under trees with a beautiful breeze that I never would have experienced if I hadn't been walking in my.
.
.
Instead of driving.
What little good things came out of the situation that you thought was messed up or went awry?
With a breath in,
Breathe in to all of the situations that you got to experience that you never knew you would.
And breathe out that strict,
Rigid plan that you live by.
Remembering to look at life,
Remembering to look at the things that we didn't even know we would get.
Being grateful for each of those experiences.
Knowing no matter what,
You're safe.
Knowing no matter what,
You're safe.
Knowing no matter what,
Life will happen around you.
We can either choose to let go of what we think is right,
And live.
Or we can choose to constantly be trying to get back on path.
Bringing awareness to your body here.
Noticing how your body feels on this path.
Doing a quick check-in with your stomach,
Your heart,
Your head.
You are okay.
You are getting to experience things you didn't even know you would.
You are getting to experience life.
And for that,
We can all be grateful.
Coming back into your space,
Coming back into the present moment.
Noticing your surroundings,
Noticing how your body feels.
And as always,
I thank you so much for spending this time with me,
But also I invite you to thank yourself for spending this time for yourself.
From my heart to yours,
I thank you.
