Hello and thank you for joining me for another meditation.
Today we're going to be meditating with our animals.
This meditation is best done with an animal that is your own pet,
Or a pet that you feel a deep connection to.
Be done with any animal that is familiar and comfortable with sitting near you,
Or even on your lap if the animal is small enough to do so.
The session today is infused with reiki energy to offer healing to you and your pet.
When you get into the habit of meditating with your pets,
You might find that they just automatically come to sit with you when you go to meditate.
And this is more likely to happen if you meditate in the same space each day.
After all,
We are all just creatures of habit and meditating is a good habit to get into.
Be very beneficial for you and for your animal.
So when you are ready,
Start by sitting upright with your pet close by and just take a few deep cleansing breaths.
Breathe in deeply and slowly through your nose and then exhale fully and completely through your mouth.
Repeat with another full deep breath in and a nice long cleansing breath out.
One last deep breath,
Sip in as much air as you can possibly and then let all the air pour out of your mouth as you resume your natural breath and just begin to relax.
Soften your shoulders.
Let your cheeks and your jaw relax.
Feel your hips relax as you settle into your seated place and then gently place one or both of your hands on your pet and let's set the intention to have a relaxing,
Comforting,
Bonding experience with our pets.
Drop your gaze toward your animal and begin to tune into the energy between you and them.
We are all energetic beings and animals are really great at reading our energy.
When you calm your breath and sit in stillness,
It invites your energy to be calm and relaxed.
You might begin to notice that the more you let go,
The more the animal feels relaxed as well.
Start doing a scan of your pet's body.
Notice the color of their eyes,
If their eyes are open.
Notice the shape of their face.
Notice the size of their paws.
Feel the texture and the color of the fur beneath your fingertips.
Perhaps stroking them lightly and feeling them begin to relax a little more as they begin to experience the sensations and feeling of your affection.
Even if they are asleep,
Watch the way they express their pleasure of being petted,
Scratched or touched in some way.
Notice if you can hear their breath.
Perhaps they are making sounds with their mouths.
Maybe you can feel their chest rise and fall beneath your hands as they breathe.
If you would like,
Close your eyes and just begin to feel into the rhythm of your pet's breath.
Reiki energy engages our own self-healing mechanism.
Everything is energy and when the energy that surrounds us is not in balance with the energy within us,
We can start to feel anxious,
Stressed or even ill.
This Reiki session invites the healing energy to flow to any imbalances that we or our pets may be experiencing.
Begin your own body for any tension,
Soreness or discomfort and when you find an area of your body that asks for some attention,
Imagine a luminescent white light being pulled into the area to bring balance and ease.
Allow any negative or stagnant energy to be released from the body with your exhale.
Continue to scan and invite light in with each inhale,
Releasing and relaxing on every exhale.
Bring your attention back to your pet.
Animals communicate through their energy exchange.
So just notice what,
If any,
Intuitive messages are coming forward from your pet.
What energy does it feel like you are receiving from them?
Can you recall a happy memory with your pet?
Do they have a favorite toy,
Treat,
Routine or game they like to play?
Notice how you feel when you think of these things.
Remember these times.
Our pets have a way of teaching us many life lessons,
Like the value of unconditional love and loyalty.
Reminds me of the Ricky Jervis quote,
Says,
If the kindest souls were rewarded with the longest lives,
Dogs would outlive us all.
Our pets lives are often too short.
So we must treasure and appreciate every moment that we have with them.
When you take the time to bond with your pet,
You are learning many things.
Expect,
Discipline,
Trust,
Kindness and compassion.
Be sure to say thank you to your fur baby for meditating with you and welcome them back into your daily practice whenever you feel so inclined to do so.
Thank you for meditating with me and with my dogs.
I hope you have a wonderful day.
