Hi my friend.
This meditation is for mothers to express our fullness,
Our wholeness through the archetype of the goddess Kali.
Kali embodies a love so powerful that she is willing to fiercely burn down what is false,
Harmful,
Or limiting so truth,
Freedom,
And aliveness can emerge.
In motherhood,
Kali reminds us that nurturing is not only softness and light,
It is also boundaries,
Discernment,
Rage in service of truth and love,
And the courage to stand fully in our power for ourselves and our children.
We'll go ahead,
We'll drop in together.
Go ahead and close your eyes and get comfortable.
Softening your belly as you take some breaths.
As your belly expands,
Letting your breath move up your ribcage and your heart space,
Up and down your shoulders.
Full inhales and full exhales.
If you're feeling activated,
It can be helpful to breathe in through your nose to a count of three,
And then exhaling out your mouth to a count of six.
And you can even have your lips pursed as if you were breathing out through a straw.
This helps tell our nervous systems and our bodies that we are safe.
Maybe it's a count of two,
And then an exhale for a count of four.
Find the timing and the rhythm that feels really in alignment for where you are in this moment.
And as you breathe,
Inviting your face to soften,
Inviting your shoulders to soften,
Your heart space to open.
And relax.
Soften your feet.
You might even wiggle your toes a bit.
And then imagine roots growing from the soles of your feet all the way into the heart of the earth,
Deep into our beautiful planet.
And then bringing your awareness to the base of your spine,
Right at your hips.
And creating a grounding cord.
I love to use a tree trunk,
But it can also be a waterfall,
A tube of energy.
Feel free to get creative with this.
And seeing this grounding cord connect right at the base of your hips and ground all the way into the earth.
Letting your roots be deeper and deeper and wider and wider.
No dinky grounding cords.
Take up space here.
And breathe into your grounding,
Feeling yourself supported by the chair that you are on,
The floor.
Feeling held.
You might even feel your body getting heavier as you arrive into your body,
Into this moment.
And then now that we are grounded,
Now that we are present,
We're going to come all the way up our bodies and say hello to your third eye space,
Right above your eyebrows in the center of your head.
And you can even bring your fingers to this space,
Say hello.
And then if you bring another hand behind your head,
Right where your two fingers meet in the center of your head,
Go ahead and be in this space.
Bring your awareness here.
Bring your breath here.
And this center of your head is your sanctuary.
It is your space,
Your quingdom.
You might even visualize what this space looks like.
For me,
If it's been a while since I've been here,
I see cobwebs,
I see boxes.
Sometimes it looks like there was a party here that nobody cleaned up.
So check in.
And you can create this space to be whatever you want it to be.
It can be a nature scene.
It can be a warm,
Cozy room indoors.
A bit of both.
Absolutely anything.
What makes you feel safe and powerful?
Taking a few more moments here,
And you can come back to this at any time.
I love to invite people to come back here maybe once a day,
Even just for a few moments and sit on your throne,
Own your space.
And from this space,
From this inner sanctuary of knowing,
I want you to visualize a bubble out in front of you about arm's length distance in front of you.
You can even bring your arms out to gauge it,
But don't overthink it.
And go ahead and in this bubble,
I want you to invite in the energy of the suppressed mother.
And notice what you see.
As you tune into this energy visually,
I want you to notice the sensations that arise in your body.
It might feel yucky in your womb,
In your heart.
You might feel a lot in your shoulders.
You might even kind of hunch over like that suppressed energy,
Shrinking,
Editing,
And maybe there's constriction.
Maybe it feels comfortable.
Maybe this is an energy you are used to being in and you're wanting to transform your relationship with this energy with motherhood itself.
If so,
You are in the right place.
And notice if this suppressed mother has any emotions she's maybe not owning.
Maybe there's anger,
Rage,
A lack of boundaries or autonomy.
Whatever it is,
Invite these energies to be released from your energy field from your body and be absorbed into this bubble out in front of you.
You may know what you're releasing,
You may not.
You may know what you're releasing,
You may not.
Taking some breaths and breathing into your roots,
Breathing into your grounding cord.
You can release down your grounding or out in front of you or a bit of both.
Whatever feels easier for you.
And often in saying hello to the archetype of the suppressed mother,
We have a lot of ancestral energies that light up in our space.
Family limitations,
Gender stereotypes,
Conditioning.
There is a lot to say hello to.
You might notice people floating out of your space as you do this.
Taking a few more breaths here to be with whatever is arising for you.
Maybe unpeeling some layers of suppression you're holding within your body.
I often see so much in our wombs,
In our hearts and in our shoulders.
But it can be anywhere.
It can live anywhere in your body,
In your energy.
And then I want you to see this bubble and I want you to catapult it out into the universe and blow it up.
I want you to now invite in the energy of the good mother in the bubble in front of you,
Creating a new bubble with this new energy.
The good mother.
You might notice a lot of responsibility,
A lot of pressure,
This need for perfection that we are often invited into as mothers by our families,
By our societies.
You need to do it all and smile while doing it.
Letting that go.
There might be guilt or shame for doing our best and still feeling like we are failing our children because we are imperfect humans.
Letting that go too.
If any emotions arise,
Honoring them,
It might be sadness,
It might be grief,
It might be rage.
Maybe you want to burn it all down.
It's valid.
Can you be with it?
Can you hold space for whatever is here?
Noticing what you observe visually,
Noticing what is alive in your body.
You might hear messages,
You might have memories pop up.
One aspect you might notice is that the archetype of the good mother does not come from within us.
It comes from outside of ourselves,
By what others define motherhood as.
And it may have no reflection on what is actually true for you and your children and what is authentic for you as a mother.
I've had to peel about three million layers with this.
There is a lot to look at.
There is a lot to separate from and to really own for ourselves.
So being gentle with yourself and keep breathing into the base of your spine,
Feeling your grounding cord,
Feeling that connection to the earth.
And then seeing out in front of you,
Seeing a fire.
I want you to invite any energies of the good mother that are not in alignment for you into this fire.
Letting any parts that are not true for you burn away,
To be released.
Any conditioning,
Any family limitations,
Anything that is coming from your partner or anyone outside of you that is simply not true for you.
You can throw the whole thing in there and just let it burn.
And then if there is any energy remaining in this bubble,
You can launch it off into the universe,
Pop it.
And we'll look at one more energy together,
And that is the energy of liberated motherhood.
Calling in that goddess Kali to help us claim our liberation in motherhood.
And in that bubble,
Invite in what liberated motherhood looks like for you.
What does it feel like in your body?
And know that this will look differently for every single mother and for every single family.
And know that for every single family,
That our authenticity,
Our wholeness is exactly what our children need,
Even if it's really hard sometimes,
Even if our medicine really pushes up against everybody else.
What is it like to stand fully in our power for ourselves and our children?
And as you feel into this energy,
As you look at this energy,
Notice what's here for you.
Maybe there's limitations or expectations of others.
I'm supposed to do things this way,
Or it should be like this,
Or look at all these other families.
Why is my experience of motherhood so different?
Those of us that are drawn to the archetype of Kali and those of us who are stepping towards liberated motherhood are often doing things very differently than anybody else.
We are blazing our own paths.
And when there's nobody outside of us that we can really see as an example,
It can cause us to doubt ourselves,
To shrink,
To edit.
Are you ready to release any of that and claim your fullness?
And as you say hello to these energies,
Releasing any energy that is not yours down your grounding,
Any emotions that are not yours,
Absolutely anything that is not in alignment with your highest,
Most beautiful truth,
Letting it go.
Letting go of any energy that you're holding in your womb,
In your heart,
In your shoulders.
I also often see a lot of energies in our crown chakras,
Where our knowing is questioned,
Or we're maybe seeking outside of ourselves for these answers that we know deeply within.
Letting any energy go that you're ready to release.
And from that bubble that represents liberated motherhood,
Inviting any energy that is not true for you to go into that fire that we created together,
Letting all that is not true burn away.
And there are often an infinite amount of layers here.
At least that has been my experience.
And so doing this in meditation is beautiful.
And then notice what your life invites into your awareness.
Notice what the next layer is for you to say hello to.
Perhaps the next boundary that you are meant to set or truth that is asking to be expressed.
Maybe there is a rug that is asking to be lifted for the highest good of your family,
Even though it is uncomfortable.
Liberated motherhood.
Motherhood is not meant to shrink us.
It is meant to invite us more deeply into our fullness and into our medicine.
Inviting this energy of what it looks like and feels like to live as a liberated mother.
And as you move this energy,
It continues to release any suppression,
Any conditioning of what motherhood is supposed to look like.
When we stand in our power,
There is this release that is invited.
Of all that is just simply not true.
One of my favorite mudras is the fearless mudra.
And if you'd like to do it with me,
You can bring your left hand over your heart and raise your right hand above you,
Bending your right elbow.
And maybe breathe here for a few minutes and feel into this energy of your power and your courage to stand firmly in your power and your truth.
Can you validate this for yourself?
Can you trust in yourself?
Can you honor your medicine?
And you can be in this mudra for as long as you like,
Or if you like,
You can take your right hand and placing your right hand on your womb as you keep your left hand on your heart.
And breathe into these spaces.
We stand in our power and we lead from our hearts.
Both connected.
We root deeply into the earth.
Honoring the divine feminine that holds us and supports us.
And as we,
As liberated mothers rise,
We all rise.
Burning away all that is no longer in alignment for the highest good.
Taking a few more breaths here,
Sister.
I see you.
I honor you.
Sending you so much love.
And as you're ready,
You can slowly start to come out of this meditation.
Maybe rolling your shoulders a few times.
Maybe gently circling your neck.
Maybe wiggling your toes or circling your hips.
Any gentle movement that can help you arrive,
Coming back to the space that you are in.
Honoring your unique path of liberation.
Thank you for your attention.
Thank you so much.
