Let's talk about feeling helpless.

Sometimes life throws things at us that are completely out of our control.

And no matter how much we want to fix or change or influence a situation,

We're left feeling powerless.

And that feeling,

It's frustrating,

Maybe even scary.

But all we have to do is take a breath.

Right now,

In this moment,

There is nothing that you need to do.

Just breathe in and breathe out.

Helplessness comes when we focus on what we can't change.

But what if we shift that focus and instead of resisting what is,

We can turn inward,

Looking at things that we can control.

Our breath,

Our perspective,

Our next small step.

With every in-breath,

Imagine gathering strength.

And with every out-breath,

Letting go of the weight of what's beyond your control.

Just like every wave that rises must eventually fall,

This too shall pass.

As John Wooden once said,

Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.

So today,

If helplessness creeps in,

Just come back to your breath and know that you're stronger than you think.
