End of Day Meditation The following is a meditation to complete each day,
To consciously clean the slate and commit to starting again anew.
Become conscious of your breath.
Become conscious of your entire body.
Greet each part of your body like you would members of your family in a busy room on a holiday.
Listen to what the parts of your body tell you about how they are.
Listen to yourself tell the parts of your body how you are.
Now listen to the body of your experience today.
Ask yourself,
How do I feel about today?
Where today was I my best self?
Where today was I not my best self?
Were there any circumstances today or challenges that caused me stress and anxiety that brought up hurts or resentment?
Were there circumstances or opportunities that caused me excitement and inspiration?
What is it about today that I think I will most remember that would be best to store in the soul of memories eternal?
What if anything about this day would I like to forget as soon as possible?
To forgive and move on from?
There are often always points in the day where we miss the mark,
Where we aim too high or too low and wind up disappointed.
Now is an opportunity to remove any blame,
Resentment or guilt towards another or ourselves.
The Chinese philosopher's Chuan Tzu said,
The mature person is like a good archer.
When he misses the bull's eye,
He turns around and seeks the reason for his failure in himself.
This isn't to blame ourselves,
But to make sure our future actions are rooted not in another's behavior but in our own consciousness.
Continuing to breathe,
Continuing to be present,
Return to your spirit,
Your consciousness and allow your spirit to return back to the present from anything that may be holding it hostage this day.
Whatever many challenge that happened earlier or any concern that you may have about tomorrow,
Give yourself the gift of having your whole spirit right here,
Right now.
And here,
Present,
Is this incredible opportunity to reset,
To realign with the creative power that resides in the present moment,
To commune with your own spirit of inspiration,
Free of any limited constructions of reality that may have been in this day.
Ralph Waldo Emerson said,
Finish each day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
Say to yourself,
I am finished with today.
I did what I could.
I release all attachment to any blunders or absurdities.
I prepare for the new day.
I begin it serenely,
Unencumbered by any old nonsense and in the highest spirit.
As you release the day that was,
Embrace this moment that is.
Let this moment be that which sets the tone for your tomorrow.
