Today I wanted to talk about Easter.
What are some things about Easter?
I usually think about Easter baskets and flowers.
Maybe you also think about chocolate and Easter eggs and of course the Easter bunny.
And I know for some people Easter is also about Jesus.
And since I'm not an expert about this,
I decided I would ask some of my friends.
So,
Here's what Josh had to say about Easter.
Easter is my favorite holiday that recognizes the coming of the spring.
The time when winter is over and we begin to see the leaves and the colors return to nature around us.
It's a beautiful time.
It's also a time in the Christian religion where we celebrate the life of Jesus,
His everlasting life.
Jesus was a great spiritual teacher who taught the importance of loving everyone,
Loving God,
And loving ourselves.
And Easter is a celebration of all the light and all the love and all the life that came through Jesus' teachings for all of us.
It's also one of my favorite times of year because it's the time where we celebrate the Easter bunny that brings eggs filled with gifts.
I love candy.
I love jelly beans.
I love searching for eggs and egg hunts.
It's a great time to celebrate and what the Easter bunny represents to me is also that coming of the spring,
That buoyancy,
That bounciness,
That joy of spring.
And the eggs recognize the hatching,
The coming forth of gifts.
That yes,
Can be candy,
But each of us is kind of like an egg too.
And when we spring and we grow,
Great gifts come out of us.
I invite you to think about the gifts that you bring forth in your life every day.
