Hello and welcome,

I'm Jessica Kirshner and you are listening to a mindful,

Modern living guided meditation.

In today's practice,

We'll be focusing on the root chakra,

Or muladhara,

Which is located at the base of your spine.

The word chakra comes from Sanskrit,

Meaning wheel or vortex,

And refers to the energy centers within the body.

These centers are crucial for maintaining balance and well-being.

The root chakra is directly tied to your sense of safety,

Security,

And stability.

It governs your survival instincts and your ability to thrive.

When the root chakra is in balance,

You feel grounded,

Centered,

And secure.

You are in alignment with what's known as prosperity consciousness,

Feeling abundant,

Supported,

And confident in your ability to meet your needs.

When out of balance,

However,

It can lead to what's known as poverty consciousness,

A sense of scarcity,

Fear,

And insecurity.

You may feel unfocused,

Anxious,

Or disconnected from your sense of stability.

Today,

As we practice this grounding meditation,

We'll work to align and balance this energy center,

Creating a sense of security,

Centeredness,

And abundance within you.

Winter stillness provides us with the perfect opportunity to return to your roots to slow down and reconnect with the foundation that supports us.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable seat.

Perhaps you'd like to lie down.

And when you're ready,

Go ahead and soften eyes or close them.

Take a deep breath in through your nose,

Filling your lungs completely.

Exhale slowly through your mouth,

Releasing any tension from your body.

Take a moment to settle in.

With each inhale,

Feel yourself becoming more present,

More connected to this moment.

With each exhale,

Let go of any distractions,

Anxieties,

Or worries.

Allow your body to relax into the surface beneath you.

Now bring your awareness down to your feet.

Feel the surface beneath you,

Solid,

Stable.

Imagine roots growing from the soles of your feet,

Reaching deep into the earth,

Anchoring you firmly to the ground.

With each breath,

Feel those roots grow deeper and deeper into the earth,

Connecting you with the powerful,

Supportive energy of Mother Earth.

Let the earth support you,

Steady,

Constant,

Unshakable.

Feel this connection,

Like a foundation beneath you,

Providing you with safety and security.

As you continue to breathe,

Bring your attention to the base of your spine,

The area of your root chakra,

Or muladhara.

Visualize a warm,

Vibrant red light glowing at the base of your spine.

This red light represents the energy of the root chakra.

As you breathe,

Imagine this light growing brighter and stronger,

Radiating warmth,

Stability.

Let this red light begin to expand,

Filling your body with a sense of groundedness and security.

Feel the connection to the earth becoming even stronger.

You are supported.

You are safe.

Now take a moment to reflect.

What does stability mean to you right now?

How does it show up in your life?

Do you feel secure in your relationships,

Your work,

Your health?

Are there any areas where you are feeling disconnected or insecure?

If you feel any tension,

Fears,

Or uncertainties,

Acknowledge them without judgment.

Give yourself permission to release them on your next exhale,

Allowing the grounding energy of the earth to wash them away.

Let them dissolve into the earth beneath you.

With each inhale,

Allow your connection to earth to deepen,

Filling you with a sense of abundance and prosperity.

As you continue to breathe,

Feel this deep sense of safety and trust growing within you.

You are supported by earth.

The energy of the root chakra is giving you the stability you need.

You don't need to rush.

You don't need to worry.

You are grounded.

You are present.

As you sit here,

Reflect on how winter calls us to slow down,

To turn inward,

And to connect with this grounding energy.

Just as nature rests during winter,

We too can take this time to pause,

To reflect,

And to renew our strength,

Our foundation.

Let this energy of the root chakra,

Of groundedness,

Of security,

Be your anchor.

Feel your connection to your foundation becoming stronger with each breath.

You are fully supported by the earth beneath you.

Now,

Take a moment to connect with the stillness around you.

Feel the security of the earth beneath you.

And the red light of your root chakra glowing strongly.

You are stable.

You are grounded.

You are abundant.

Take a few deep breaths here.

With each inhale,

Draw in strength and stability.

With each exhale,

Release any remaining tension,

Fears,

Or doubts.

Allow them to melt away.

When you are ready,

Begin to bring your awareness back to the room around you.

Gently wiggle your fingers and your toes.

When you feel ready,

Open your eyes,

Carrying the grounded energy of your root chakra with you.

Remember,

This sense of security and stability is always available to you.

Thank you for sharing this time with me today.

May you walk forward with confidence,

Knowing that you are grounded,

Supported,

And connected.

And connected to the abundant energy of earth.
