Take a moment to settle into your chair.

Get comfy,

Letting your breaths become long and relaxed.

Becoming calm,

Centered as you shift your focus,

Your energy onto this moment of indulgence you are gifting your day with.

Bringing your attention away from the chatter of the coffee shop,

The noises and sights around you wherever you may be.

Leading that attention toward fully and curiously noticing yourself in the midst of this moment.

How are you feeling?

Relaxed?

Content?

Is there a spark of eager anticipation for that comforting first sip of your drink?

Does your face and fingers still feel flushed from the cold outside?

Or are you feeling nice and toasty curled up in your comfortable spot?

Let your attention drift around yourself,

Simply noticing the different sensations and feelings that arise as you do so.

Now with a careful intent gently pick up your cup.

Feel its warmth between your hands,

How it gently heats each and every fingertip that embraces it.

Notice the textures of the cup.

Is it a smooth hard porcelain cup?

Or does it feel soft and almost papery underneath your touch?

Is it cold in some places and hot in others?

What's its shape?

Open your senses to exploring this everyday item that gets overlooked.

Appreciating how its very existence enables you to have this delicious drink right now.

Then bring the cup toward your face,

Feeling the warmth of it near to your lips as you inhale its aromas.

What do you smell?

How does this smell make you feel?

What does this smell remind you of or mean to you?

Now take a small sip,

Feel the warmth and softness of the liquid against your lips as it comes to coat your tongue in its aromatic flavors.

Notice what you taste and perhaps where on your tongue you taste it most.

Is it sweet?

Bitter?

Are there any flavors that stand out more than most?

Feel the movements in your neck as you swallow and the sensations that arise as it moves through your body.

Does its warmth flood you with contentment,

Satisfaction,

A desire for more?

Take another sip.

How does this one make you feel?

Is it any different to the last sip?

Are the flavors still as strong?

Do you taste something that you didn't before?

Again as you swallow notice the movements in your mouth and neck working together to enable you to drink this beverage and any sensations that arise or perhaps this time don't arise.

Does it feel any different having taken this second sip?

Is it as comforting as it was before or is it even more so?

Has the urge for more being quenched or is it still there?

Carefully holding your cup in your lap or setting it back down on the table if you wish.

Take a moment now to contemplate how all of this was possible.

All the things that happened that led you to being able to have that sip just now.

The ingredients that were lovingly tended to,

Grown and harvested.

How they were prepared and sent to this particular coffee shop or to the shop you bought it from.

How they were then perfectly made by the barista or yourself into this delicious drink that you've gotten to savor right here in this moment.

How this moment wouldn't have been possible without all of this.

Thank you for joining me in this quick mindful moment today.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your drink and I look forward to meditating with you again soon.

From my heart to yours as always,

Namaste.

You
