This 10-minute chanting practice gently guides you from effort into presence — from sound into stillness. We begin with soft humming on the exhale to calm the nervous system and prepare the voice. From there, the hum naturally unfolds into the mantra Aum Namaḥ Śivāya, chanted with ease and spaciousness, before dissolving back into humming and quiet. You’re welcome to chant aloud, hum softly, or simply listen and receive the vibration. No prior experience is needed. This practice is ideal when you wish to slow down, settle the mind, and reconnect with inner stillness. If you’d like to deepen this experience, you may enjoy the short course “Coming Home to Inner Stillness with Aum Namaḥ Śivāya” on my profile. With love, Monika

Let the sound guide you from effort into presence,

From noise into clarity,

From doing into being.

You can close your eyes and if you wish place a hand on your chest.

And just feel the breath moving,

Easy,

Natural,

Already happening by itself.

We will start by humming softly on the exhale,

Allowing the sound to soothe the nervous system and gently prepare the voice.

You can just breathe normally and with the exhale join humming.

Allow the vibrations to flow through your lips,

Your nose,

Your head,

At your own pace,

Gentle and unforced.

Allow yourself to relax into the sound.

And if it feels natural,

Let the hum slowly find its way into sound and melody.

And begin to sense the mantra forming within it.

Allow the mantra to begin to take shape.

Allow yourself to move into silence.

Noticing what is alive in you right now.

Beautiful.

Gently begin to bring your awareness back.

There's no rush.

Stay soft and connected.

Feel the body,

The ground beneath you,

The simple fact of being here.

Very slowly and gently bring your palms together in front of your heart.

To close our practice we will chant Aum shanti shanti shanti,

Gently sealing the practice with peace.

Within ourselves,

Around us and for all beings.

Take a soft,

Deep inhale for Aum.

Thank you for sharing your voice and your presence.

May the stillness we touched together accompany you gently as you move back into your day or evening.

Namaste.
