Today,
We will learn who we are in Christ Jesus,
Who He says that we are.
Quite often,
We seek for our affirmation,
Our identity,
Our worth in other people,
What they say about us,
What they think about us,
Who we are in their eyes.
But the most important thing in the world is who we are in the eyes of God our Father,
In the eyes of Jesus Christ.
Today,
I want to remind you who you are,
Who God says you are.
He will align our thoughts to His thoughts.
Even though His ways are greater than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts,
He will align us to Him.
He will bring us in correct alignment with Him when we meditate on who we are in Him.
Let us focus on refreshing our mind,
Having our mind renewed,
Not to conform to the patterns of this world,
But to renew our minds in Christ Jesus,
To reflect on what is good and pure and just so we can have discernment.
I'll be sharing some verses from the Bible today to remind you who you are in God.
Let's take a moment to relax together.
If you're not already laying down or sitting down,
You can do so now.
Let's close our eyes and take a few deep breaths together.
Let's breathe in and out.
Breathe in and out.
Last time,
Let's breathe in and out.
Continue breathing at your pace,
Whatever feels comfortable for you.
You don't have to notice your breath.
You don't have to notice anything.
Just rest and be and know that God is with you.
God is for you.
I pray,
God,
That you would prepare us to hear your words today that you have given us,
Your words that you have created and curated for our ears to hear.
I pray that we would be open to hear from you and that these would not just be words that pass through us or pass over us,
But that they would rest deep within us,
That they would become more of us,
That you would mold us like clay to be more like you and to be more like the children that you have called us to be.
I'm now going to read several verses that I think will be good for us to meditate on this morning.
John 1,
12,
Yet to all who did receive him,
To those who believed in his name,
He gave the right to become children of God.
You are a child of God.
Romans 8,
28,
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
Who have been called according to his purpose.
You have a purpose.
You have been called to honor God,
And he loves you and will work out good things in you.
Ephesians 1,
7,
In him we have redemption through his blood,
The forgiveness of our sins,
In accordance with the riches of God's grace.
You are forgiven.
John 15,
16,
You did not choose me,
But I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit,
Fruit that will last,
And so that whatever you ask in my name,
The Father will give you.
Jesus wants you to ask.
Ask in Jesus' name and watch how the Father blesses you.
Watch how the Father answers.
Romans 6,
6,
For we know that our old self was crucified with him,
So that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,
That we should no longer be slaves to sin.
Our old self has passed away,
The new has come.
Rest in that today.
You are no longer a slave to your past.
You have been given newness in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5,
17,
Therefore,
If anyone is in Christ,
He is a new creation.
Old things have passed away.
Behold,
All things have become new.
Remember,
You are new in Christ.
Anytime the enemy wants to rise up to pull you back into fear,
Pull you back into a mindset that you no longer have to be attached to.
You can face that emotion,
You can face that fear and say,
I have been saved by Christ.
I am a new creation.
You have no authority over me.
In the authority of Christ Jesus,
I command any evil thought,
Any fear,
Anything that goes against who Jesus says that I am,
You must flee.
That energy,
That mindset,
That fear,
That must flee.
That is no longer a part of you.
That is no longer a part of your DNA.
You are protected,
Safe and sealed in the blood of Christ.
He has saved you.
You are new.
You are a new person.
You no longer are conformed to the old patterns that enslaved you at one time.
Jesus came with keys and unlocked the chains that bound you up.
And he said,
You are free.
You are free in Jesus.
Remember that today.
You are a child of God.
You have been given purpose and you are free to do the good works that he has called you to do.
I pray that you would remember that today.
And I pray that we would just take this time now to reflect on all those beautiful words that Jesus gave us to remind us of our identity,
To remind us of who we are and whose we are.
Let us take time now to just meditate and think and take in all these wonderful words.
They are true about you,
That you are a saint.
You were a sinner and Jesus took your hand and he walked you over to God the Father and said,
Father,
I see this person because of me.
They are pure.
They are white as snow.
Remember that you have been cleansed.
Jesus cares so deeply for you.
God the Father loves you and the Holy Spirit will enable you and equip you to remember who you are.
I hope you take this time now to just relax and be present.
Whether you feel like spending time with God the Father or Jesus or just asking the Spirit to empower you today,
Take this time now to pray or just be present.
And thank you so much for listening.
May God bless you.
