This meditation is for expectant and new mothers,
Or any mother who would like to tap into her own source of strength.
Taking a few deep breaths and settling into your body,
Whether you're already feeling strong or whether you're feeling vulnerable right now,
You can use this practice to access your power and bring out more of it whenever you need it.
As you slowly breathe,
Getting a sense that your conscious awareness is travelling down from your mind into your heart space.
In this space,
You become your true spirit.
You are not your body,
Which can often not feel like your own with a baby.
And you are not all the things you have to do.
Even though you have a baby that is reliant upon you,
It's important to remember that the real you is still in there.
You may not get to remember this very much,
So take a moment to feel into your heart space and connect with the true you.
Preparing yourself for a journey now,
A journey deep down inside of you.
Visualising now that you're travelling down some stone stairs,
Slowly descending,
Zig-zagging down into the depths of your being.
Arriving now at a well-lit cavern,
A bright and beautiful room with a comfortable place to sit right in the centre.
This space is filled with your favourite colours and styles and makes you feel calm and welcome.
Find a place to sit in the centre of the cavern and setting your intention to find your strength while you are here.
Calling in your sources of strength and inviting them into this space with you.
Perhaps there's a particular animal which gives you strength,
Or a person from history.
Maybe you have an image of yourself from the past,
Or from your imagination,
Where you are strong,
Fearless or courageous.
Maybe an angel or spirit guide offers you strength.
Whatever you call forth and find in this cavern is completely up to you.
Just calling in all of the sources of strength that are available to you now.
All of these things that help build your strength,
Do so with love and without conditions.
Feeling yourself becoming stronger in this cavern,
Drawing on that inner strength and allowing it to expand.
Knowing that you have the capacity to do what is required of you as a mother.
Spending a few more moments in this space,
Absorbing this strength.
Now that you have found your inner strength,
Bringing it with you as you return to ascend the stairs.
Thanking all of these sources that assisted you and slowly returning back up the stairs.
Feeling a sense of newfound fortitude as you return into your heart space.
Coming to mind your child now.
They may be growing inside of you,
Or born many moons ago,
Regardless of their age.
Just thinking about the gift of this young soul.
Feeling so grateful and appreciative to have the opportunity to care for,
Teach and love this child.
Noticing the love growing within your heart.
This love expands and mixes with the strength that you are carrying with you.
This combination of love and strength gives you unstoppable power.
You may feel tired,
Worn down or vulnerable from time to time.
But remember that this power is inside of you.
The strength to show up and do what you need to do.
And the love to be the best mama that you can be for this beautiful child.
Using your breath to come back into your body now.
Allowing this strength to come with you as you feel into your body.
Open your eyes and return to your day.
