A guided meditation to welcome in the New Year with gratitude and love. A new year is a chance to begin anew. Like waves washing ashore, we release the past year and welcome in the new one. Instead of a New Year's resolution, we focus on a feeling we want for the New Year. I hope this meditation from my heart brings you peace and love in the coming year.

Let your eyelids fall and close and let's turn inwards to this world inside of us.

Turning to our breath.

Feeling whatever sensations arise in the body.

Feeling your heart beating.

Let's take a moment to feel gratitude for this year that has passed.

Gratitude for all the beautiful moments.

And gratitude for the moments that were challenging.

Maybe it's gratitude for all those moments where you felt overwhelmed but you came back to yourself.

Picture the waves of an ocean coming onto the shore and then retreating into the ocean.

See each wave coming to the shore,

Washing away with it this year past.

Cleaning the shore,

A clean slate,

A chance to begin again.

Now bringing our attention to the year that lies ahead.

How do you want to feel in this year ahead?

Focusing on one feeling,

One emotion that you want for yourself for this coming year.

Is it gratitude?

Is it a sense of freedom?

Is it a sense of expansion?

Of being unstoppable?

Taking a moment to feel this feeling right now.

What does this feeling feel like in your body?

Where in your body do you feel this feeling the most?

Bringing your attention to that part of your body.

Is it in your chest?

In your heart?

In your stomach?

Placing a hand on that part of the body where you feel this feeling that you want for yourself in this year ahead.

Take a moment to breathe into it and experience that feeling now.

And welcome in the new way that you want to feel.

May this year be your best year ever.

And Namaste.

Thank you, that was good apart from the strident chime at the end. It was loud and went through me, jarring my nerves. My word/feeling was upliftmentπŸ™πŸŽˆ
