In this episode,

We will discuss about the New Year's resolutions.

Do I make the same resolutions year after year?

Are they realistic?

Can I put them into practice?

Dear friends,

Welcome to Simply Yoga with Nathalie.

This channel is for all the busy bees of this world who would like to slow down and rediscover their inner strength.

My name is Nathalie Charlene and I am a yogi and a scientist.

Let's discover together our inner power.

First,

Take the time to think about what I really want to change.

What in my life is recurring and prevents me from living my full potential?

What constitutes an obstacle?

What would I like to change to be a little more at peace?

Is there a project I would like to do?

Is there something stopping me?

Maybe take a sheet and write down what I would really like to change.

Set a clear intention and choose a few goals,

Maybe one to three.

Then in a concrete way,

How does this objective translate into my everyday life?

For example,

If I have chosen to get in shape by doing more physical activity,

Maybe I can set myself the goal of exercising two to three times a week.

If I manage to maintain this pace,

I then see if I can increase the frequency.

If my goal brings me excitement and fear,

That is normal.

We are venturing into an area that is perhaps less familiar to us and it is normal to question ourselves.

To help us,

I can write on paper the different steps that I see useful in achieving my goal.

For example,

If my goal is to write a book,

I can give myself deadlines during the year to establish the structure of my book,

Have a first draft,

Have it read to a few people and get their suggestions,

Etc.

I will have an overview of the project,

But I can also focus on a small objective at a time so that it is more encouraging and realistic.

If I want to change a trait of my personality,

It requires humility.

For example,

If I find that my impatience causes frustration in my life,

I must first recognize that often when I am frustrated,

It is because at some point or another during the day,

I was impatient.

I had an expectation,

It didn't work out the way I wanted it to,

It caused delays and it made me feel bad.

To recognize this requires a dose of humility,

A humility to recognize that there is something in me that I could improve.

The next step would be to find a way to be calmer the next time I am facing a situation that challenges my ability to remain patient.

Finally,

It is very motivating to have goals,

But despite all the goals I have set for myself,

Changes can happen along the way which are beyond my control.

In this case,

The path taken in reaching the objective requires flexibility on my part.

Recognize that I have goals but also accept some changes along the way if I see that life presents me with new challenges.

In any recipe,

There is a main ingredient.

To put our new resolutions into practice,

There is also one,

That of compassion for the self.

Love yourself first and foremost.

This way,

Whatever happens,

We can keep hope,

Be at peace and continue to walk on this path that will lead us to the best version of ourselves.

Let's bring a little more love in our everyday life,

Little by little.

I am Nathalie and I wish you a beautiful inner journey.
